Re: Gainward gtx 570 Phantom
I still didn't buy the gtx 570, and that is why I asking in the forum to verify that it is indeed reasonably quiet.
Do you think that the Asus DirectCu version is quiter?

Gainward gtx 570 Phantom
Did anybody tried this cooler? If so is it quiet? Do you have another gtx 570 that is quiet?

Re: x-series at high load
Yeah I guess that a bit of fan noise during gaming would be fine, but is the x-650 in the p183 would run quiter because it is isolated?

Re: x-series at high load
unfortunately, in my country I only have the x-400, x-460, x-560, x-650,x-750,x-850. I can't afford the 750/850 versions because they are far to expensive for me.
I going to have i5 2500k and gtx 570 (Gainward Phantom version), which consume aroung 350w, and I planing on doing some overclocking.

Re: x-series at high load
I would really want to buy the x-850, but it is extremely expensive in my country. But, another option I have is the Seasonic s12d-750w/850w which supposed to be the not modular version of the m12d, are they quiet like the modu87+?

x-series at high load
I thought of using a Seasonic x-series psu in my next build (x-560 or x-650), but from the review Mike did it is apparent that those power supplies become quite noisy a high loads (~400w), so should I instead buy the modu87+?

Re: Kingwin Lazer Platinum 550W @ Jonnyguru
I think that the Seasonic x-460 passive is good enough- it doesn't make any noise (at least not airflow noise) and it has very high efficiency, But it is good to hear on another alternative.

Re: Silent PC with ability to play games
I would choose Silverstone Ft02/Rv02 I would never go for those cases with an AC AXP on a GTX 580 (200-230W), never: too high are the risks it won't work at all. Can you please give me an explanation why it won't work? A hd 5970 can fit in those cases, so I believe that the AC Accelero extreme Plus...

Re: Silent PC with ability to play games
If you have the money to spend I would consider this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162073. It is a gtx 580 with artic cooling accelero extreme plus cooler which is quiet by spcr standarts. For a case, I would choose Silverstone Ft02/Rv02 or Antec Twelve Hundred- all ...

Re: A question
Thanks for the replies. I hava a 1920x1080 LCD and I don't think that i'll add anyone soon. ces- like you suggested I think that I will go with two hd 5770 cf, even though it is less powerfull because it will be a lot quiter. But what do you think will be a sufficint case to cool more than 200w? For...

A question
A question related to graphics card- what do you think would be better for my rig- two passvie hd 5770 in crossfirex, or one gtx 560 ti which supposed to be quiet? I don't think that the hd 6850 passive will come anytime soon...

Re: Serenity i7 Sandy Bridge PC, SPCR Edition, by Puget Comp
You are right, they should use hd 5770 passive from Gigabyte.rpsgc wrote:That computer needs a way better video card. What's the challenge in using a passively cooled low mid-end card? And with that kind of hardware, a 5750 feels out of place.

Re: What's the best current CPU heatsink if money is no prob
Noctua nh-d14 is really good and include two fans, Scythe Ninga 3/Mugen 2, Thermalright Hr-02 and also a really great cooler is Prolimatech Megahalem. If you have a lot of money to spend and you want to overclock the sandy bridge to like 5ghz and you want to keep it quiet, I reccomend water cooling ...

Re: Sandy Bridge Gaming Rig - Please comment
I think that two 6950 in cf will be extremly noisy, esspicially on load condition, so maybe you can consider two asus directCU 6850 in crossfire which will give you a lot of graphic power (unless you are doing an Eyefinity setup or something similar). Another recommendation is to get a case like Sil...

Enermax Eco80+ 400w
I saw the review on the 500w version on this psu, and I want to ask if this power supply (Enermax Eco80+ 400w) is also good like the 500w version? I am building a system that will consume about 100-150w and I saw that the enermax 500w make about 12Db when it provides that kind of power. I can get th...

Re: A new inaudiable build for basic use
Yes I know noctua's fans are not so good, but for exmple, if I would buy the Noctua u12p se2, that comes with two fans, and I will undervolt them to about 5v, the fans will still be noisy? I won't buy them separatly, especialy when you can buy Slipstream fans in much lower price and they are perform...

Re: A new inaudiable build for basic use
Well that is look pretty good. I don't think that I will take the mugen because it is looks pretty damn hard to mount it, and I want something that will be easier for a begginer. So based on you things I am summarize it: *Intel E8400, P35 motherboard ATX, 2Gb Ram. * Antec Solo with two Slipstreams/N...

First Mike I want to tell you that you have amazing reviews in this site and I think that no other site even get close to how proffesional this site is! Re: A new inaudiable build for basic use
Well so I think I will either take the Nexus vaule 430 or Modu87+ 500w, so that the fan will help a little... I think that my final build will be like this: Intel e8400, 2Gb Ram, p35 motherbord, P183/ Fractal design R3 (the exterior looks amazing...), Seagate Momentus XT in Scythe SDQ 2.5, few Nexus...

Re: A new inaudiable build for basic use
So just to be sure I think I'll take the Seasonic x-560, that spcr didn't reviewed but I believe it is a very good psu. It will also help cool down the hard drive in the lower cage. Another question I have is if it would be better to replace the Samsung hard drive which looks quite slow, with the Se...

A new inaudiable build for basic use
I have from my previeus build a intel e8400 and a motherboard and an 2gb memory. I though about building a mew build with those components: *E8400 *Msi neo p35 * 2gb memory stick * Hd 5450 passive * modu87+/nexus vaule 430/ seasonic x-460 fanless/ seasonic x-560 (help me decide which will be the bes...
