My almost 1 fan system

I just finished upgrading my computer to an Athlon 64 3000+ venice, DFI Lanparty nf4 Ultra-D, and eVGA 6600GT. I kept my old ram (512 DDR333 + 512 DDR400), hard drives (72gb Raptor, 120gb Maxtor DM9), PSU (Seasonic SS 400), and DVD burner. I put a Thermalright XP-120 on the CPU, and undervolted it t...

Based on what I've seen in power supplies, the guts are probably attached to the bottom. So, take off the cover, cut off the back, and you should be good. With that setup, I can't imagine a 120mm fan not adequately cooling just about any PSU at any speed (well, other than stopped of course :) ).

Their industry (petroleum geology) can have some pretty demanding calculations. My parents just upgraded some of their older P4s since they were too slow... trying to imagine someone still using a system with just a 5.25"... More on topic, I really want one of these, too bad I need the money...

I just replaced some heatsinks. I'm using a DFI Lanparty nf4 Ultra-D. https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/tgcluff/web/mobo.jpg Unfortunately, it seems to run too hot to run my chipset fanless, but my undervolted (but not underclocked) 3000+ venice handles it fine; 54C under full load. I wish I could get my ...

The accuracy of the figures in the image is in serious doubt. The text on the Via page says that the C7 die is 30mm2. The actual size of the C3 die is 25mm2! Good god. The yields on it will be incredible, I'm sure it'll be very cheap to make. I wouldn't be too worried about the cooling, even with t...

i dont find floppies very useful, but i guess for some raid drivers. I just had to use one to flash my BIOS; I couldn't boot to windows with a Venice on my mobo without an update. I have to agree, floppies aren't very useful, but when you need one, there's pretty much no way to get around it. I kno...

I've got a DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D. I'm using an XP-120, which misses the ram but probably blocks the first PCI-E slot (I'm not sure, since I don't have a card to try in there). I'm using a Zalman 47J on the chipset, which blocks any cards longer than the 16x slot in the 2nd slot. It also doesn't s...

That looks beautiful...

I have only two concerns about it.

1. Will that positioning of the PSU give enough room for 120mm fan PSUs?

2. Will there be a contest to give away one or more of these to me?

I'm running a 3000+ undervolted to ~1.12volts. I have some 80mm cooler master aluminum heatsink; the fan is controlled by my mobo and at the speeds it's going at is very quiet (though the room I'm in is too noisy for effective noise comparisons); I get 28C idle and 35C under full load.

The slots are right next to each other. That seems like a really bad idea. A terrible one even. DFI NF4 Ultra-D undervolting with CrystalCPUID

I just got a 3000+ Venice and a DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D. Of course, I've been experimenting with undervolting and underclocking it. There's another firebird extension, 'remove anything' from extensionroom.mozdev.com it will allow you to right click on the ad and remove it from the page. The click to play flash thing is probably better for this though.

I'm using a little giant PCL-020. Its stats are pretty close to the Iwaki MD15, but half the price, and twice the power consumption.

Its kinda noisy, I want to buy a Iwaki MD-15 when I can afford it. Submerging it made things worse.

You should be pretty well protected from data corruption, it willl hurt performance though. Every time an error is detected, it has to resend that data a second time. I still use rounded cables though.
