Re: HDD vibration & noise reducing methods - ranked

Putting the HDD on it upside down may help w/ cooling -- the heavier cast aluminum on the bottom dissipates more heat than the thin steel top cover. Just flipped mine upside down and it got cooler by ~1°C at idle and 4°C (from 40°C to 36°C) after an hour of constant sequential activity. Not bad for...

Re: Silverstone Fortress FT03 microATX Tower

One of the greatest looking cases I've seen (or maybe the only one good looking) and an example of a newthink too. Kudos to Silverstone for innovation. What's the point of spending money on an SSD and not use it? TEMP dir back to SSD!

By the time it wears out, you'll long be running a newer/bigger/better/faster/cheaper SSD.

I am not even trying to be picky, not looking for the perfect design, but Jeez... do those designers have a b...

Re: What Causes "snappiness" in Performance

Yes, but it doesn't affect Word's speed of brining the file up. Who knows how that AV works... Turning it off for a while would be an easy way to identify if that the problem or not. It just slows down when I use windows explorer to open that same file. And the problem disappears when iDrive contin...
