Hey guys thanks for all the replies. @loimlo, @netmask254 and @CA_Steve, after seeing your posts I did some further research and went with the Crucial M4 128GB. Looks to be the best choice for "real use" speeds and reliability and I paid $200 on the nose for it. @benius I actually don't game at all ...

Is there any way to track a post I have made to make sure it doesn't get lost? Also, when do my posts stop getting reviewed. I've been a member since Dec 2010, but I only have 4 posts

I think the i5-2500k makes the most sense. It's only $225 and is very futureproof as you can overclock as well.
The board you chose is overkill but I think you should stick with z68 as it has great features.
I'm sure you can find a z68 that costs somewhere in the low 100's.

[New build] HTPC build, but also my main computer. Advice?
My setup is my computer connected to my 50" TV and a secondary 22" display so I can watch my shows and surf or work at the same time. Computing activities: Surf, 1080p watching, Office tools, programming, light gaming. I have come close to choosing a build and even though Ivy bridge will come Q1 201...

How about using the Grandia GD05? It's cheaper, smaller and more efficient. I've actually been planning a PC with the i3-540 and I chose the GD05. Now I will of course consider the i3-2120. Anyone think this case could cause any issues?
