Re: Which PWM, CPU or Specialty Fan do you Want SPCR to Revi

I've voted for other. I'd like a review of the brand new CoolerMaster Turbine Master, as I've read a couple of general reviews of this fan and it is seemignly an excellent performer but I'd like to see a review from a silence enthusiast perspective :D # http://www.kitguru.net/components/cooling/zard...

Re: Quiet PSU Dilemma: Buy one and change the fan, or spend

Dilemma solved! Thanks Kuzzia, got a great deal on a Coolermaster Silent Pro M 500w so that be the weapon of choice!

Re: New sub £500 build advice needed

Sorry to hear about your duff PSU. I've just got a Coolermaster Silent Pro 500w modular for £53 courtesy of a one day deal on Scan, it's normally £67! The problem I have with the GD-04 is actually the fascia lol, I want to use a Silverstone TS-03 slim optical drive adapter that has a built in 2.5" h...

Re: New sub £500 build advice needed

Thanks, I found it myself eventually anyway :D I guess the best way to tell is for me to hear them for myself. My ageing antec tricool fans in my gaming rig could do with replacing, so if it turns out that the enermax are better then I'm not really losing out, I can put the silverstone fans in there.

Re: New sub £500 build advice needed

Thanks Luca, I haven't found any reviews of the fans as I can't seem to find a model number anywhere. I will have a look on the main SPCR site and see what I can find, Thanks for your advice :D

Re: New sub £500 build advice needed

Oh ? Hmm  Well the Enermax fans I am looking at http://www.enermax.co.uk/tbsilence.html are rated for 42CFM at 11dBA and I do like the fact that they have detachable blades for cleaning, I'm a bit OCD about things like that. I will say that I have just bought a Core i3 540 so I'm ditching the...

Re: New sub £500 build advice needed

Hi mate, I'm looking at upgrading my old C2D system based around the GD05 as I too have similar size restrictions :( , but it's a really nice case and has good reviews, and I too overlooked the ATX thing but in my case, I already have an ATX board so I was a tad gutted when I remembered its not mATX...

Re: Quiet PSU Dilemma: Buy one and change the fan, or spend

Thanks for the replies! Steve, I did write a reply to you last night but it appears not to have posted for whatever reason lol. Basically I said yes, I will be using it for gaming from time to time, mainly racing games as my 7 year old boy is mad about cars and it's easier to sit him next to me on t...

Re: Quiet PSU Dilemma: Buy one and change the fan, or spend

Thanks for the advice, but trust me when I say I have no intention of using the old PSU as its not a conventional type, it appears to be proprietary to the type of case. Let's say for the sake of argument that I haven't got it anymore :D

Re: Quiet PSU Dilemma: Buy one and change the fan, or spend

Changing the fan on the current PSU isn't an option for me as it's a low quality generic one that came with the old case and is only 350w so it's not powerful enough so I'm scrapping that all together. The crux of it is that I would want the PSU to be as close to the dBA of the case fans as possible...

Quiet PSU Dilemma: Buy one and change the fan, or spend more

I'm intending to rebuild my HTPC in a couple of weeks after I get paid, and after the last one being mega noisy, I've been checking out some fans and coolers and so on and so far my only dilemma is, A) do I spend slightly less on a PSU and change the fan; I did this on my gaming rig a couple of year...

Re: Silverstone Grandia GD05: A Versatile HTPC Case

Hi guys, I'm going to be purchasing this case as I got a new slimline TV stand at xmas and its a lot shallower than my current HTPC (which was cheap and cheerful but loud as hell) and the GD05 will fit perfectly, I've also ordered a Zalman VNF100 for my 8800GT that looks like it will be a beautiful ...
