Confused by Pico PSU and Adapter ratings
If I have, say a 150w Pico PSU, what power adapter do I get in terms of wattage? I dont understand why on the mini itx site they put the 150w PSU for example, using the 102w adapter? Can anyone explain how this all fits together? Thanks!

Re: What is the lowest power Ivy Bridge Mobo?
Having now looked into it, Haswell looks like a good option, just because the mobos are so much easier to get hold of, for example, Intel's BOXDH87RL

Re: What is the lowest power Ivy Bridge Mobo?
Thanks Vico. The problem is that those Intel boards are always out of stock/not possible to purchase in the UK! Has anyone else found a solution to this?
Is there any data compiled anywhere about this either?
Thanks!

Re: Whining Components
Everyone, I have just found a very helpful step which removed my whining from the motherboard! Try it: Its all very weird, but this stopped the (capacitors, I think) sound: 1. Execute: "regedit" 2 .Locate: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Power \ PowerSettings \ 54533251-8...

Please recommend me a motherboard
I currently run the Asus P8h67-I Deluxe in my H3 SODD. THe system is completely passive but as reported in the relevant thread, my motherboard gives off an incredibly irritating electrical noise which I cannot stop. I am therefore looking to replace it. Can anyone recommend me something similar that...

Mystery sound from HD PLex
Hi All For some time I have loved my H3 Sodd from HD Plex. A truly silent computer. However for a number of reasons the machine is currently on my desktop with its top off and there is an odd sound coming from it. All I can really describe it as is noise. It varies in pitch or tone, like a seeking s...

Re: Coolest and lowest power draw Mini ITX H67
I agree, on reflection. I intend this to be wired. However funnily enough the board I decided on in the end was the Asus H67 Deluxe.. I wanted internal 3.0 and decent heatsinks all over.

Does RAM choice affect power draw and temperature? If so, which is best to use, for a passive mini itx system?

Thanks everyone, yes, this is for going in the H3 SODD.
And that might be the problem with the Intel DH67CF, because it doesnt have as good heatsinks as say the Asus H67...

At what temp does instability usually arise?
I would like to run a DH67CF in a H3Sodd. And apparently this will run to about 70 degrees.
At what system temp does instability normally arise?

Intel DH67CF - Being run in a passive environment
Has anyone run this board completely passive? Its a shame for such a frugal board on power that its heatsinks aren't up to much.

Lowest power consumption SSD
Which is it?
Also, I see that some ssds do make noise, is there a list somewhere that shows all the silent ones?
Thanks

Built in Wireless Adapters
Are these less reliable than other ways to create wireless? I am about to build a H3 Sodd for use in my living room, and ideally wanted a board with wifi on it, like the new Z68 Zotac, however I heard the adapter is not that good and I am still attracted to the low power of Intel. Will a USB Adapter...

Re: What quality of components do I actually need?
Hi Guys Thanks so much. Yeah no need for HD. Thanks for pointing it out, its useful to formally check off in my head specs that unecessary, what else will I be losing out on a system like that? Nothing that interferes with what it'll be doing presmably? That ASUS motherboard looks great. I will try ...

I'm looking to build a simple, budget HTPC. Its use will be: 1. Library for all my mp3's, which I'd like to play back using a remote, and navigable on screen. 2. Playing DVD's, do not care about quality 3. Playing avi's, wmvs etc from my computer again do not care about quality 4. Have a wireless ca...
