Re: GTX 1080 Review Compilation Thread
While im wating on the MSI GTX1080 Gaming X, one card that has recently caught my atention due to the triple slot cooler like the MSI GTX980 Lightning is the Zotac GTX1080 AMP! Edition . Sadly there are no reviews from the usual sites yet, only some youtube videos, but still is impressing, speciall...

as the Nexus sleeve bearing is less durable, placed that way. Not only that. I recently had 4 Nexus Real Silent Fans (Black & White) at hand and all of them exhibited a clicking noise as soon as I held them horizontally. I had to return them, as they were of no use to me. Re: Asus P8P67 and P8P67 Pro P67 Motherboards
Is it true you can't control the "Power Fan" speeds? I'm looking at the BIOS screenshots from this review ( http://www.clunk.org.uk/reviews/asus-p8p67-deluxe-motherboard-review/Page-11.html ) and apparently you can only use Q-Fan for the CPU and Chassis fans. I was thinking of getting an ASUS P67 mo...

Re: Connecting Nexus 92mm to Motherboard or Powersupply?
It seems like the more recent P67 motherboards tend to use 4-pin rather than 3-pin fan headers. How would you connect a 3-pin fan such as the Nexus 92mm to a 4-pin motherboard fan header? Are there adapters? Thanks EDIT: I just realized that some P67 motherboards (in particular MSI's) have 3-pin fan...

Re: Quiet GTX 560 Ti
At the 40% min fan speed it is inaudible in my machine. Unless you run your system fanless I'm not sure you'd be able to hear it. It's much quieter than my annoying Radeon 6950 and its bearing noise / air turbulence. I setup a fan profile in Afterburner that keeps it at 40% until 75C at which point...

Re: Quiet GTX 560 Ti
I've been having good luck with using MSI Afterburner to keep my MSI 560 Twin Frozr quiet. They just tuned their default fan profile in a way to keep the card quite cool. Note how they advertise 20C cooler than the competition. Would you say it can be made 100% silent when idle? (e.g. while casuall...

Corsair TX650 - How noisy is the CWT version?
I'm getting a Corsair TX650 next week, and today I found out that the latest ones are made by CWT, which makes them noisier than the Seasonic version. Just how noisy are the new CWT units? Should I auction off the TX650 without even opening it, and get something else? I want my setup to be a...

Re: Mugen 2 or Noctua NH-D14?
In my experience, down-blowers don't cool the CPU as well as towers, but the surrounding components run MUCH cooler. The best example I can think of for this is Scythe's Rasetsu, which is the down blowing version of its Yasya tower. The Rasetsu gets runs a few degrees hotter and the fan runs louder...

Re: Mugen 2 or Noctua NH-D14?
Are there any measurements of the associated motherboard heat that comes with using a tower heatsink (e.g. Mugan 2) instead of a top-down blower (NH-D14)?

Re: What's the best current CPU heatsink if money is no prob
Hmm... Frosty Tech rates the Noctua NH-C14 as the #2 best heatsink by temperature, but it doesn't even make the list for low noise at max speed: http://www.frostytech.com/top5heatsinks.cfm That said, it does have great temperature/noise performance at low speed: http://www.frostytech.com/articleview...

Re: Smallest quiet case to fit a 9in. long video card (GTX 5
What is the smallest case with good noise isolation that will fit a GTX 560? AFAIK there are no noticeably smaller case than the Solo with stock sound insulation and drive dampening/suspension, which is actually one of its kind. At anyway, to find out the best fit for your needs you should also poi...

Re: MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr Fits in Antec Solo
In my Solo, at that 40% idle fan speed, I can't hear the card at all (but the Solo might be quieter than more open cases). But, even at 45%, it becomes noticeable. If you modify the fan curve to what I mentioned earlier, it only leaves that 40% level during fairly intense games. Great, sounds very ...

Smallest quiet case to fit a 9in. long video card (GTX 560)?
Hi, I currently have a Raidmax Smilodon ATX case, and after reading about some fairly quiet Antec cases (e.g. Antec Solo) I want to upgrade. However, I don't need the 8 drive bays that the Antec Solo has, for example. My current case is mostly empty given that all I have is a power supply, mobo, CPU...

Re: MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr Fits in Antec Solo
@falcon26: looks like 40% is the lowest you get, for me still barly audible at idle. 30% would actually serve me well. So even if you're not running games or benchmarks, that's the quietest it will go? Still, you mention that it's "barely audible" at 40%, which doesn't sound so bad. What case are y...
