Re: Can I buy a system "from" SPCR?
downwitch you are extremely rude, all m0002a is trying to do is help and with the incredibly unhelpful and unspecific requirements you gave him I want low-power and passive-cooled-as-possible, but also need some horsepower, some warranty/service guarantees, and have a pretty flexible budget . Seeing...

Interesting, so they plan to make it quiet by using a smaller motor, interesting.Tephras wrote:Yes. See it in action in this video.Orient wrote:I am somewhat confused by this announcement does it mean that the blades are attached to the frame and the whole frame moves?

Antec TrueQuiet Pro 120
I am somewhat confused by this announcement does it mean that the blades are attached to the frame and the whole frame moves? If so i'm not sure i see the acoustic advantage. http://www.legitreviews.com/news/12599/ The design isn't really mentioned by HOCP though http://www.hardocp.com/news/2012/03/...

Re: Fairly quiet workstation (P182 ++) - Updated 21.09.08
I did wonder if I should just get some foam blocks and wedge the fan in, but would like a filter. Which is were i'd have most problems i think. But i could use a 4in3 unit, might make my build a little tidier as well. Thanks for the advice. [EDIT] Managed to find a Kama bay on ebay, did have a sligh...

Re: Fairly quiet workstation (P182 ++) - Updated 21.09.08
Hi i wondered if you could tell me how you mounted your 120mm fan in the top drive bays, as this is something i'd really like to do with my p182. So i can get 2 air paths through my system 1 for the CPU and 1 for the GPU. Possibly using 2 Silverstone Air penetrators letting me remove my Xigmatek hea...

Re: Quiet 2TB HD with blended performance
I'd suggest the Samsung Spinpoint F4 2TB HD204UI I have it in an external case and it's very quiet, perhaps quieter than the F1, i had that drive until it broke, i have no idea about it's performance as i have it running through USB but it's been fine for me, runs at lower speed (5400rpm) and only h...

Re: A Silent and very powerful PC for less than 1,000 GBP
You may as well drop down to the Intel i5 2500K unless you have a real need for the 2600k, saves about £80 for a small power increase.

Re: Fractal R3 Build question. (UK)
Does anyone have any experience with the HIS IceQ cooler? I have been looking at the HIS 6950 IceQ X and looking at other forum posts it sounds like the cooler in general could be a good balance between noise and cooling, for a high end card anyway. SPCR have been kind enough to produce an R3 review...

Re: Fractal R3 Build question. (UK)
I would prefer not to have to fit an aftermarket VGA cooler mainly because it would seem like a waste to buy a decent card and then through away the cooler You could get a stock 560 or 6950 graphics card (not aftermarket cooler) for cheaper and then add an aftermarket cooler on to it. That way you ...

Re: Fractal R3 Build question. (UK)
Wow, and there was me thinking i'd never get a reply! Never heard of the phantom model before, thanks for that might make a change. The 2GB one is tempting, i know no real point yet but i plan to keep this build for a while and upgrade it such as another 560 and better cpu, also better case cooling....

Fractal R3 Build
Hi, I'm looking at putting together a quiet PC, while i would love silence its unlikely with a high end graphics card. I list my build below and i wonder if any one could suggest any improvements that would make it quieter/cooler. I am looking at Overclocking the i5 CPU to a reasonable level, at lea...

I'm looking at http://www.dabs.com/products/best-value-geforce-gtx-560ti-1gb-pci-express-hdmi-palit-7BJY.html or http://www.dabs.com/products/kfa2-geforce-gtx-560ti-1gb-pci-express-hdmi-ex-oc-7BLY.html Never heard of these manufacturers before now. Re: Fractal R3 Build question. (UK)
Would an Antec p183 be a better choice or indeed the NZXT H2, although i saw an extremely scathing review of the H2, although he didn't test it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHcyWTorjdU MSI twin frozr HD6950 2GB, does seem like a good card but i've been reading quite alot about how the GTX 560 Ti ...
