CPU Cooler for a Moncaso 320 HTPC? What to [s]queeze in?

I was wondering if someone could provide me with some information on a particular CPU cooler in relation to ones that SPCR have tested in the past. I am building an HTPC based on the Moneaul 320 case and am having some difficultly finding a suitable replacement for the stock CPU cooler. The SPCR rev...

Re: PicoPSU problem!

I've just heard back from LinITX and apparently the PSU is operating as it should be and they've suggested a compatibility issue. They are going to issue me with a refund so now I need to find an alternative. I'm thinking of going for a 12V version as suggested by rthorntn and maybe going up to 120W...

Re: PicoPSU problem!

Thanks for your replies. The 90w is probably more suitable for a much lower wattage cpu. I guess it's possible, but others are running very similar systems from 80W PSU's which don't pass the 12V straight through. http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=62704&p=546062&hilit=g620#p5...

Re: The quest for a silent HTPC PSU

Let me know what you think of this revised selection: Intel Desktop Board DH67VR Media Series - £65 Intel G20T 2.2GHz - £59 Kingston Value 2GB 1333Mhz CL9 - £10.50 Total = £134.50 (I think I can live with the extra £14.50!) Where can I find out what the minimum CPU fan speed is for this board? Intel...

Re: The quest for a silent HTPC PSU

The cost for me would be about 130£. I expect it'd be a bit more for you and less for people in the US. Post your selected parts and people may suggest cheaper ones. MSI H67MA-E45 Intel H67 - £72 (SPDIF would be nice to have for AV receiver) Intel i3 2100 3.1 GHz- £89 Corsair XMS3 2x1 GB 1333 MHz (...

Re: The quest for a silent HTPC PSU

Firstly thanks very much for all your input, keep it coming! I seem to have two issues.. one regarding the core system and the other the PSU. Core System: My reason for going down the socket 775 system route is value for money. Where it would be nice to go for an i3 / H67 setup it will cost me £200+...

Re: Enermax ECO80+ ESS500AWT

I've not got much experience with PSU's but I think 150W is a little on the small side for my HTPC setup. Here's more detail; Case - Moneual 320 M/B - ASUS A8AE-LE CPU - Athlon XP X2 4800+ GPU - ATI Radeon 4550 RAM - 2x 1GB SSD - 40GB Intel 320 Series HDD - 1TB WD Caviar Green DVD/Blue-ray drive to ...

Enermax ECO80+ ESS500AWT

I've been deciding on a new PSU for my HTPC, Moneual 320 case, Athlon XP X2 4800+ etc. Based mainly on noise considerations I decided on the Enermax ECO80+ ESS500AWT which has good reviews and is on the recommended list. However this particular model seems very difficult to get in the UK without pay...
