Re: Inexpensive (silent) replacement for a 400W EErPro: hint
I'm no expert, so I've just put some data into the enermax psu calculator , trying with both (video) "basic card" to emulate the on-die gpu (and with a top of the line vcard just for the fun of it, i don't plan to add it) i forgot to mention that I have a whopping 5 80mm fans (including the cpu fan)...

Re: Inexpensive (silent) replacement for a 400W EErPro: hint
thanks for the suggestion; what made me exclude the g360 from the first round is the noise behaviour around 200 watts, 19dBa, and how gets "loud" just above that. It gets beaten hands down practically by every other unit in the table including the nexus value 430 (not available anymore, here). I thi...

Inexpensive (silent) replacement for a 400W EErPro: hint?
Hi, today, without asking me for permission, my EES400AWT died on me. It was housed in a HTPC (z68, i5-2500k, 8 gigs, green hd, no vga). That unit suited me well because of 1. being appreciabily quiet 2. being rel. inexpensive 3. being compact. 14cm max depth is a necessity , because of the aerocool...

Re: x86 with arm like power draw for router/server
or you need to find a used Pineview or Poulsbo laptop and gut it. btw, I could buy a refurbished 1001px (n455) for a reasonable price. what do you think it could be the power draw on average load - with the lcd in sleep mode, and possibily with a SD card as a primary drive? would it make sense as a...

Re: Jetway NF9C-2600 Atom N2600 Mini-ITX Motherboard
in the meantime, while we investigate the intel new lines, the eb 1020 keeps staring at me from web shops, with its quite affordable package and official "Power Consumption Idle:9.396W Running:13.144W~18.77W" this thing has less memory, but doesn't have an ssd but a regular hard drive, I'd be curiou...

Re: Intel DN2800MT hands on...Single digit world?
good to know you use mageia now, since if you didn't and by chance you still had to wrestle with centos or fedora (I'm still at 16, I tried the 17 but it's still too raw) I could have been tempted to try to build a kernel package over the weekend with the very latest commit available in the git repo...

Re: Intel DN2800MT hands on...Single digit world?
One possibility could be using this software (that I never personally tried) http://sourceforge.net/projects/lfsb/ anyway, since the cpu scaling is working well, I agree that there's not much (if at all) interest in trying. I think that the driver (or at the very least some utility to fix the gpu re...

Re: Intel DN2800MT hands on...Single digit world?
just wondering: did anyone get the chance of trying to underclock/undervolt the 2800mt intel board, or their smaller-number sibilings (like the hudson, the 2500 looks ...affordable)? i'd be curious to know - with a proper use of the bios, setfsb or similar tools - how much the Watts could go down, i...

Re: Jetway NF9C-2600 Atom N2600 Mini-ITX Motherboard
I'm also interested in this. I mean, on-die decent hardware acceleration for videos is nice ( 'bout time, intel ), but what I feel more interested in is very low power consumption with average or near-idle load , with a fairly standard linux distribution without a gui. silence and low power go very ...

Re: Has anybody tried undervolting sandybridge yet?
topic may be old but really interesting ! i'm especially interested in findings about a 2500k at (most probably) stock speeds , I'd like to undervolt it to "silence" it as much as possibile; what are your "best" parameters? I'm going to buy the 2500k for the ability to fine tune its performance to t...

Enermax Eco80+ vs * ErPro80+ * vs Pro82+
I read here that the Eco80+ (EESxxxAWT) is probably one of the best choices (near perfect quetness, good electrical parameters, somewhat affordable price) Seems to me that it's no more in production (no more listed on the Enermax site, or - better said - it's not labelled eco anymore, maybe replaced...

Re: really tiny HTPC, with i5 2500k
to tell the truth, i was snooping around and i found a z68 itx board (asrock iirc), but I confirm i don't plan to overlock; instead, one use of the z68/k combination could be to down clock the processor more freely - if necessary to obtain a truly quiet system (was thinking about undervolting a litt...

quiet & Cheap: Silverstone essential,Seasonic s12II,Nexus?
hi looking for a cheap but Really quiet psu (htpc) Pico kits seem not an option because I plan to use at least an i5-2500k; but on the other side definitely i won't need 500+ watts. i live in italy, not everything is easy and cheap to find, this limit the choices corsair vx and hx seem quite pricey ...

Re: really tiny HTPC, with i5 2500k
thanks for the prompt and detailed reply
i'll look a bit more into it to find the best possible option to fit in the available cramped and wierdly-shaped space
do you think that the q07 could be also critical for the temperatures, with a cpu like the 2500K (96 TDP) ?

hi and since I live in a small town in italy, not all hardware is easy (cheap) to find do these thing fit and - that's the most important thing - will be silent enough AND be ok from a thermal point of view? lian li q07b seasonic (s)s12II 430 i5 2500k big shuriken (would the regular shuriken fit? ar...
