Re: Fractal Design Define R4 launches

Doesn't really do much for me bit Meh design wise. I also think the cooling is OTT for most bar heavy overclockers. I've nowhere to put an internal card reader (I use 2 optical bays) I'm sure it's decent enough and will do pretty well Not exactly a major revolution though is it? I think it's great,...

Good for consumers but most enthusiasts have switched to Crucial and Samsung. On the bright side this will drive down prices even more :)

I'd go R3 or 550D. Simply because both can block all the extra ports via vent blockers from each company.

Price wise the R3 wins but build quality is a bit better on the 550D.

Hi there, I have a fractal define r3 and I was wondering how I can configure it for optimal silence and cooling. At the moment it's pretty quiet but I think I could do better. For years I've had a noisy computer and find myself finally wanting to try to make a quiet computer. I saw that the Radeon 7750 (sapphire) has a fanless version. It appears that they can be setup in crossfire. Has anyone tried doing it yet and had success? Or am I better off getting a slightly beef...

Hello, this is my first post in this forum, I have just bought a second-hand Thermaltake DH101 HTPC case and would like to start filling it. Either I will use an Athlon II X4 631 (or the newer 651) or I will try and get a used i7 2600k off an ebay equivalent site. So I don't know yet what socket MB...

As far as I know any UPS will only get loud when needed. While idling/charging the fans won't be needed but the instant you lose power they'll kick into full gear until not needed or they run out of juice.

I can see the logic in that but I think it would be too fiddly for my brother to remove the rubber bands when he receives it. I also want to find a simpler alternative to the clips for even when it's not in transit, as they're almost impossible to get in place with the motherboard in the case, so i...

Putting a heatsink inside the case would just make that move air as warm as inside the case no? Using an H60 is fine, there are quieter solutions of course as the H60 pump is connected to the CPU block. I'd much rather go D14/Silver Arrow for that price and for OCing - reason being the pump on the H...

Re: More fans ---> Less noise!

Very nice and tidy.

I agree on the more slow fans is quieter than a single high rpm fan. I've a crapton of Noctua's in my main rig and they're all around 400rpm. Much quieter than having just a few at 800 or less at higher rpm.
