Re: MB died after 5 years need help upgrading PC

Hi, I went for be quiet! Pure Power 11 500W before I got your replies. I stayed with be quiet! as 5 years out of 3 year warranty seems fair. I have mounted the PSU this way since there is no grille to pull cold air from outside under it in Antec three hundred. I figured with regularly cleaned meshes...

Re: MB died after 5 years need help upgrading PC

I found a paper clip test on youtube and tried that with my PSU with everything disconnected, and results are same so I guess it is the PSU that gave up the ghost after 5 years. I guess I never expected that to happen since it had double the power I needed and was from decent company. Maybe 5 years ...

Re: MB died after 5 years need help upgrading PC

I thought it's PSU, but why would it turn fans for a brief moment if it was gone? I found a MB speaker and connected it but get no codes at all. Here is a video of what happens: https://youtu.be/EeRaP5BrnWY As I said, I press start on case and fans turn on and immediately off. MB has only RAM and CP...

Re: MB died after 5 years need help upgrading PC

That was my first try, but I looked at MBs and CPU prices and prices are out the roof. I don't like paying 250+ euro for MB for 6th gen i3 processor. As for GPU, I know it won't give me more with newer parts, but I am not looking for more, since I rarely used all its power in the first place. I like...

MB died after 5 years need help upgrading PC

Hi guys, Coming back after 5 years to ask for your help in upgrading PC again. I would like to keep it fairly cheap and only change what is necessary, my previous setup was this . Unfortunately today my something died, pressing power button only turns fans for a brief and then all is dead. I presume...

Re: Can anyone please help me with building quiet PC for gam

Hi, thank you all for tips. I came up with this so far which is slightly over my budget, but I figure I can do upgrade of MB, RAM and CPU first and buy GPU and PSU later to kinda spread the costs. I guess this should be as good as I need it to be. Thanks for your help again.

Re: Can anyone please help me with building quiet PC for gam

Hi Steve, This sounds great, looks like I can squezee in with this changes, PSU is Earthwats alright. Height was a little more than 6 inch less than 6.5 defo. I squeezed in a sewing ruler I had at hand inside there to check ;) not very precise method I know. I'm not overly worried about cooler, they...

Re: Can anyone please help me with building quiet PC for gam

Wow, nice to be welcomed back ;) I'm still living with 17 inch 1280x 1024 adn Full HD I can play at my regular 32" TV I guess, but probably won't. Witcher 3 is for my wife and is probably the most resource eating game i will play for the forseable future. My PSU is still Antec 380 W, just changed it...

Can anyone please help me with building quiet PC for gaming?

Hi everyone, It has come that time after 6 years when I want to upgrade my PC again. I was thinking of getting something on a budget of 500 euro that would be able to run The witcher 3 on high details at 40FPS. I looked through SilentPC diy builds section but newest article is for 4K computer and th...

Re: Low End Budget pc that is Silent or Quiet at least

Ok, thank you all for help, much appreciated. I think I know now everything I needed, will look into costs now ;) And that Antec isn't to bad - after stopping its dan and fan on CPU i found out that vibrations and loud hum I get from HDD, which I will try to suspend now. Once again thanks for your h...

Re: Low End Budget pc that is Silent or Quiet at least

I get your point sir, but this case is absolutely dreadful and I hate it, oh so much. I wish I would have an idea of it's model name to show you pictures of it, but unfortunately I don't (or maybe fortunately because it could give you nightmares ;) ) As I said, the build I have now is enough for my ...

Re: Low End Budget pc that is Silent or Quiet at least

haha, I decided to go with Fractal-Design-Define-Series-Micro Case and Seasonic S12-380W already, but will check these props too. User Ces posted about motherboards optimized for fast-boot and I'm looking into that now, but all I found out is Intel motherboards, so I'm stuck now with choice for that...

Re: Low End Budget pc that is Silent or Quiet at least

So many posts and so many options :) The monitor is 17", my mistake ;) PSU is Antec EA380 with 80mm supposedly quiet fan and I think that what makes the PC I have now the noisiest is that flimsy case it's in, because it's so thin it does vibrate a lot. I didn't realize that you get GPU's now with CP...

Re: Low End Budget pc that is Silent or Quiet at least

Well, I used to build computers when I was younger, so it's not completely new to me, although I haven't been in market for quite a while so I wouldn't know what's best choice right now. I was thinking of m-Itx before, but the idea of integrated graphics doesn't really appeal to me. I mean it's ok f...

Low End Budget pc that is Silent or Quiet at least

Hi, I'm considering updating my PC and would like it to be as silent as possible. I would like it to cost no more than 500 Euro and it doesn't need to be too powerful, as my usual daily work on it is web browsing and playing music. I play older games, like Jedi Academy, Darkstar One, Flight Simulato...
