Re: Hold on buying any Nvidia card
It looks like Nvidia's Maxwell architecture is also bad for DX12.
This is huge news, Nvidia is in big trouble with VR/DX12 just around the corner.

Why?CA_Steve wrote:I'd spend a few bucks more and get a more recently designed and higher efficiency PSU. Straight Power 10 for example.
The one I selected has outstanding reviews and the total system power draw will never get beyond 400W anyway.

Has anyone bothered to make a graph just comparing all the 980ti cards between each other, on temperature, performance and noise?
So...MSI, Zotac, Palit, Gigabyte, Inno3D, Asus, EVGA.

Yes, it looks like Palit GeForce GTX 980 Ti Super JetStream is the overall winner in performance, noise and cooling.
I'm sure that if you put it in something like Fortress FT05 the cooling and noise results would be even better.

From MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, Zotac...
It would also be nice if it has great cooling too, so the temp never goes above 70c, it would be wise to keep the longevity of these very expensive cards.

Why do people still put HDDs in their computers?
I got 850 Evo 500GB as my only drive, and for everything else I got a WD Elements 4TB, which I plug in once a month.

Silverstone KL-06 doesn't have sound-dampening material anywhere while this one does and has a closed front panel, which also has sound-dampening material.

Everything about it is perfect for both silence and cooling, and frankly, I'm sick of unnecessarily big PC cases, which includes the the smallest mid-tower cases.

This is really the way of the future, forget about specialized media PCs. Just plug in your 4TB WD Elements drive and there you go...
Plus there are really some outstanding games that don't require big power, like Puzzle Quest 2.

Intel Compute Stick.
However, I can't find the exact specifications.
From visual inspection alone how would you connect keyboard, mouse, headphones, external hDD like WD Elements to do all the non-gaming activity like MS Office, browsing, watching movies and youtube videos..

So, you're saying there would be a considerable performance difference, even if i5 4690k were to be overclocked only to 4GHz, compared to non k?

Turbo Boost and K CPUs
As I understand it, the ones without the K still have turbo option which enables it to overclock to 3.9GHz, so if you only want to overclock i5 4690K to 4GHZ, it doesn't really make sense to buy the K one?

Is this correct?

What exactly does is effectively mean when a headset has virtual surround sound, for example between Sennheiser PC 363D and PC 360?

I was wondering does anyone know of headphones of the same quality and price as Sennheiser HD 518 but also with a microphone?
So, open and circumaural.
The closest are Sennheiser PC 360 but they are a lot more expensive.

Re: BQ Silent Base 800 VS Fractal Define R5 VS Silverstone F
I've been also looking into those three cases, my conclusion:
Silent Base 800 is much better in cooling and silence than Define R5, default 3 very silent fans and smartly resolved heat dissipation.
Silverstone FT05 is the best of them all but costs twice as much.

All others praise the outstanding cooling results, and how the hell do you get lower temperatures with one less 140mm fan as is the case with Define R4.

Re: Define R5 review
I'm not happy with any of the cooling results, the results from other reviews are pretty bad, making Carbide 330R still superior while offering the same or better level of noise reduction. Do you think cooling could be drastically improved if you put two 140mm intake fans at the bottom and one 140mm...

There you go, it's definitely on my list now.
As for the "very big" comment, is that an issue with normal ATX cases like Carbide 330R?
Also, from those pictures...is the PSU fan at the bottom? So, the case has to have 140mm grill?
