Re: Silencing a Mouse's Microswitches

+1 for the Vaseline method.

on one of my mice i bent the little prong and it didn't make it much quieter, so i put the Vaseline in and it is 95% quieter! there is still a very very quiet click on the left click but it is a huge difference! I did it to two mice and they both still work flawlessly!

Re: quiet gaming mouse and keyboard?

i have tried to read that forum, i think i got to page 5 or 6. it was just too painful to read. there was some recommendations on torpe keyboards, but they look like the keyboards my grandma has, and they're spendy. Thanks for that forum, they're pretty intense, going to lengths of customizing key-c...

Re: Small laser printer that doesnt curl paper?

Another thing to take into account is where that specific batch/ream of paper came from off the manufacturing roll. Cheaper paper is often cut from the inside of the roll, giving the paper a much tighter curl. More premium paper is often from the outside. Cheaper paper will almost always have nasty ...

quiet gaming mouse and keyboard?

this seems to be a strange topic on here, as you cannot entirely remove the tactile feedback given by clicks and such from these devices, but what do you guys run? Ive heard the cherry mx brown switches are nice. what about gaming mice? i dont care about ones that have the numpad on the side

Re: What is NAS and can i use it?

Now if you are looking for something a little more automatic and via network, you can get a prebuild small server like Synology DS216se , Synology DSM is a very easy to use OS, and you can program the backups. You simply add the hdds you prefer and load the software. I would use WD Reds in any NAS ...

What is NAS and can i use it?

Sorry for the stupid question, I tried searching for something outlining NAS but cant find anything. I am looking for a large HDD to back up my PC to and have come to the WD green or red. The reds, as im sure youre aware are NAS drives, which is completely foreign to me. after googling it, its "Netw...

Re: want input on my build

.. my tower will be in, basically a drawer, in my desk(it's made to have a PC in it, but with the door closed there is no airflow .. Really, really, really bad idea for a PC with a high powered gfx card...let alone possibly two. Where do you expect the heat to go? It'll get really loud and then it'...

Re: want input on my build

Yeah, I know that raid is a little... OK A LOT over kill and completely unnecessary, but it sounds fun. I might actually get a handful of m2 ssd's and get a raid 5 with those, if I can find a pcie card that has more than 2 m2 slots on it. I do plan on having a 2tb HDD back up, just can't decide if I...

Re: want input on my build

I havent already necissarily "gone" haswell, but i do have the h97 plus mobo sitting on my parts bench. i picked it up for a pretty good deal and as im not into overclocking it fit what i needed. Thats why i went haswell. skylake would be nice for "future proofing" but... meh, oh well. the raid 60 i...
