Ryzen 7 2700x

Hello,

I have a ryzen 7 2700x cpu and want 2 things: to keep it cool enough to get get max performance out of it and to cool it silent as possible. Can someone suggest a coooler that will do the job?

(also ideal would be to be usable for future ryzen 3700x when released).

Thanks!

Re: GTX 1070 Review Compilation Thread

I hope that we ALL observe the discrepancies between the review. There are too many diferences. Most are related with Strix. And as of yet (it was my first option, and I even advocated for it reading and annalyzing the review) it seems to be the most biased card of all. If results of all other cards...

Re: GTX 1070 Review Compilation Thread

Maybe, but in a thread with more than 130 posts, where me and some coleagues tried to see wich 1070 would be the most silent and cool, many strix owners stated that strix temps are above 70 (71-72) with 1500rpm. for me those 61 degrees are either a typo (instead of 71) or a bias toward Asus. In fact...

A little update:

would msi gtx 1070 hawk would be better suited for a silent computer than any other variant? it is around 80$ more than gaming x, golden sample or amp extreme. Is it worth it?

Re: SPCR inspired [quiet] build

@ggumdol : excelent explanation. Thank you! your words slightly lean me towards the gainward GS model instead of the MSI gaming x. Can I quote you on another forum (in romanian) where is an intense debate about the most silent card gtx 1070?

Case would be Define R5.

Re: GTX 1070 Review Compilation Thread

But this could be huge from the noise perspective. As seting your goal in temp around low 70s,mean even slow rpm meaning even lower noise. In other words, at equal temps, strix would be silent than msi. Conclusion: strix would be the card to go if noise is the main goal. But... In gtx 1080 reviews, ...

Asus Strix gtx 1070 review @hexus.net: http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphics/94156-asus-rog-strix-geforce-gtx-1070-oc/ Aren`t those 61 degrees celcius way to low for temps on load? Good Silent PSU

Is this a good PSU for a silent build? Super Flower Leadex Gold 650W It sells for 100$ plus VAT (20% here in romania). Or what better PSU in this price range (below 100$, US market), 550w-650w, modular and silent? I would aim for Corsair RM650x (or RM550x, not decided) but at the moment prices high ...

Re: GTX 1070 Review Compilation Thread

Did anyone noticed the big diference in temp between Asus strix gtx 1070 and Asus strix gtx 1080 @KitGuru review? 28/59/59 for 1070 and 29/63/70 for gtx 1080. Is this a mistake? A typo? or is this a real thing? I would have expected similar results in temp between those two cards.

I'm sorry for my mistake. You don't have any reason whatsoever to change your existing, wonderfully working motherboard. Period. There is no way I will change my MB now. PLus I have no reason doing so, as Asrock MB works just well. I guess I`ll just plug the fans to case fan controler and set it on med or low. Re: SPCR inspired quit build

My choice for 750w was in hope of underload and thus no PSU fan spinning = silence. Would a 550w behave the same? I know RM750x fan spin only after around 350w load. about GPU, I`ll wait and see. Regarding silence: a stronger GPU (like 1070) with limited FPS(like underload the GPU) wouldn`t produce ...

SPCR inspired [quiet] build

Hi, After reading the quiet build around Define R5 case, I decided to follow the principles and most recommended components and here I am, on the verge of building my first quiet pc. Re: Case Choice - Is the Fractal R5 really a good case?

Well, after looking at those graphs, R5 is winner for me. They look mostly equal at 5v but R5 win consistently at 12v so, IF 12v is ever needed, R5 would be a better option. Anyway, I also found some review here and there (I read thouroughly the one at kitguru) for silent base 800 and R5 and R5 is t...

Re: Case Choice - Is the Fractal R5 really a good case?

Great answers... How much I want to spent? Well, even R5 is a little over my expected budget. But I find (reading your site and a few others) R5 gets it ALL done quite well: price/airflow/silence. To sum it, if it`s not cheaper than R5, I`m not interested. But... I was advised to also look for Phant...

Fractal Design Define R5 vs beQuiet! Silent Base 800

I read the entire article about a silent pc build on R5 case and also the review on Silent Base 800. At first glance it seems that Fractal`s case is better at silence and temps both. I would like some insights from those who know better how to compare the two cases. Price wise, at my favorite retail...
