I can't find any consistent information about speedfan supports P5B-E or not. Any one who can confirm this?

Mobo for budget hd-vistadream
I'm planning to upgrade my htpc. The new one will be build around a E4300 or perhaps E4400 with 2 gb of A-tech ram (price being an issue). The gpu wil properly be a 7600 GT because of the purevideo functions. The machine is build for vista and HD. If I oc the 4300 it should run HD fine, but the 7600...

I use my old coolermaster box for my server. After adding af few drives, I got concerned with the temp of these, as is was around 46 deg c. I have removed the faceplate of the case, and now they are down to about 35 deg c. So the solution must be to drill some holes in the faceplate and mount a fan ...

They seem to be avalible here in DK. http://www.edbpriser.dk/Products/Listpr ... ?ID=205249 Notice the core voltage 1.025/1.075. However at 2644 DKK, they are quite expensive compared to the other two flavors comming in at around 1120 DKK.

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately it will not, allthou it is exectly the kind I'm looking for. The angle of the CPU is 90 dg off, so this would blow the hot air to the psu and not to the back of the case. http://www.abit-usa.com/images/products/ic7-max3_lg.jpg (Seen from the back. i have r...

HS for Dvine 5
I fanally got around to do something about my noisy Divine 5 case. The CPU is a P4 2,8. Thing is, the case only have two small 60mm fans that I replaced with papst and a 60mm fan in the psu, also replaced with a papst. The pcu is cooled by a zalman 92 mm thing. I suspect that one of the main issues ...

Regarding the server drives: I know nothing about the spinpoint but I am using 3 WD5000YS drives in my PC. They are very quiet, but they get very warm. The 80mm Nexus (12V) I use to keep them cool makes as much noise as they do. Just found out that the WD has twice the MTBF (1,2 mio. hours) compare...

500 GB HD for home file server and notebook drive
FFS. The HD in my good old vaio z505 failed me last night. Its not the original drive, but a 60gb I put in there when the last one failed me. As my current drives all are full to the brim, I'll use this an excuse to revamb my setup. Currently I have three samsung P160 in my media pc, a 60gb in my se...

What HSF combo to chose for Dvine5?
My Dvine5 case sucks for the noise it makes. I have replaced all the stock fans with papst fans, so there is not much more do to about the case fans. I am also planning to move the HDs to my server and install a 2,5 HD, in order to remove some of the heat generated inside the case. That should lover...

Att: Mike and other reviewers. Finding tests of the latest small capacity drives here at SPCR is quite easy and I fully understand that in order to get the most silent setup, one has to go this way. However there are some of us, for whom this does not cut it. We need biiiiig drives and several of th...

[quote="Aleksi"]tack tack och lycka till! quote] hei dere ;) Please correct me if Im wrong here, but I belive that the mobo fan headers does not regulate by voltage, but by PWM duty cycle instead as this is so much easier to do with a chip, wheras voltageregulation would require a few more component...

As stated there is various requests for a silent HTPC case. Making a case with proprietary mobo is not gonna work, nor making one exclusively for P-M. If the case had a proprietary mobo, which CPU should it be build for? And then one would have to trash the case with the next upgrade, and then we're...

i think itd be more likely to have a low output fanless internal PSU, suspended HDD's, possibly rubber mountings for the optical drives, plenty of space around CPU, and a 92mm intake and exhaust -oh, and it'll be black 8) Yes, and be the size of a fridge  Well, I have been into the subject of ...

Interesting. I guess that the fans PWM input can also be used with voltage regulation, if one does not desire PWM. This makes it so much easier to make a colsed circuit fan controller, where the controller actually measures the speed of the fan, in order to control it, and not just assume that 50% P...

Just got the fans, and they are for sure more silent than the stock ones. However I am replacing the fan in the PSU, with one with tach signal. I have to have the fan controlled by the control circuit in the PSU, as this have a temp sensor and regulates the speed according to the psu's temp. So I am...

Just got the stuff together and it's idleing in front of me. What a f...... malice. Just sitting there doing absolutely silch, it runs 35C on the mobo and 48C for the cpu. Way too hot for my taste, and this is with the case fans running at 90%. I definetely recommend a P-M for this case. O, and the ...

Fans for Ahanix Dvine 5 enclosure
I finally got a Dvine5 case for my HTPC. But it is much louder and more annoying than the case I previous used. So now I am in the quest to silence the damn thing. I got a Zahlman 7700CU for the CPU, so that is not a big issue, but the annoying 60mm fans in the rear of the case and the one in the PS...

Hey, I am pondering the same question about 500GB drives. I don't need the speed as I don't game, and these are going into my HTPC. So I want to go with the 7200.9 with 8mb. Based on my experience, you won't notice an eventual difference in speed, performance being so close. After a while, you'll su...

1) You won't need more than 1 GB RAM for the HTPC stuff. Gaming is another matter. 2) All DX9 compatible cards will work with MCE. However Nvidia from 6600 have a sligt advantage as these cards have hardware decoding of certain video streams. 3) Not much beside the remote. So get the 150MCE and anot...
