I can't find any consistent information about speedfan supports P5B-E or not. Any one who can confirm this?

After some hours of research, I came up with the answer. The Asus P5B-E seems to be the best choice. It oc very well and enough of its many fanheaders work with speedfan.

I'm planning to upgrade my htpc. The new one will be build around a E4300 or perhaps E4400 with 2 gb of A-tech ram (price being an issue). Thinking about it, drilling in a hexagonal pattern is likely to be the most efficient, except to cut big hole. I might go for 3 holes, so the center of the fan is covered. No need to sacrifice the good look of this case for a degree or two in temp.

No issues with my IC7-Max3, gentlemen. Removed the OTES and replaced the NB fan with a zalman HS. Runs fine with speedfan.

After some doing some research I believe the cpu on my IC7 is turned 90 degrees, why the NT1 is not an option, as this cannot be turned 90 degrees with the 478 bracket. Back to the drawing board.

I totally agree. Why could Intel with their new BTX standart not have made one for HTPCs giving cases only 12-15 cm high. All in all thats why I prefer the DVine5 case.
