Re: What to upgrade?

Before I answer you, treat results coming from linked PurePC's CPU test as worse case scenarios. Goal of CPU testing is finding and showing such to increase differences between CPUs. In most games it would look better, so differences between CPUs would be lower. Just different for any other game, so...

Re: What to upgrade?

I am not quite sure what they mean by adding the * and 60 fps. Clearly, I want higher fps than that. And exactly here may be the catch connected to CPU bottleneck topic. The thing with the CPU bottleneck is, in any game given CPU is able to deliver some number of frames - whatever the resolution. G...

Re: Please, I'm asking for help for a super silent build...but with mini itx case

I don't know how much of a difference, but there is such - even just look at the size of the cards. Ventus for sure won't be great. From my personal experience even tripple-fan 3060 can be dissapointing like 3060 Gigabyte Gaming OC - this thing was way hotter and louder than e.g. also tripple-fan AS...

Re: Please, I'm asking for help for a super silent build...but with mini itx case

Don't expect mentioned cards being quiet out-of-the-box - these are the cheap models, budget, so all about cutting corners to lower price. It means weaker cooling solution (higher temperatures and noise) plus low quality, so durability. From my experience with 3060 and similar power draw cards, you ...

Re: Please, I'm asking for help for a super silent build...but with mini itx case

Looking at specification only both V1 and Core 500 don't seem that bad in terms of capacity, but I would need to check some reviews in terms of any surprises, restrictions possibly not shown in specifications or not working great in real life. Define cases just give you something extra and crucial i...

Re: Please, I'm asking for help for a super silent build...but with mini itx case

There's no problem to build tiny computer in cases you proposed, but in general building computer of such size is like doing everything to make this pc louder. E.g. tiny cooler = more noise needed to cool CPU; small GPU = more noise to cool it. Just final effect may not end up satisfying. I doubt be...

Re: Please, I'm asking for help for a super silent build...but with mini itx case

I would start with that, if you want your computer being as quiet as possible, you want the biggest possible CPU and GPU coolers. ATX power supplies also tend to be quieter than SFX ones (some SFX-L being here middleground). Bigger PC case is also less likely than tiny one to increase temperatures o...

Re: What to upgrade?

Let's start with your questions from first post: 1. You can upgrade your card for 4070 or 4070Ti without replacing your board and PSU. 2. Yes, your CPU will bottleneck such cards and resolution won't change it, there's no good way of calculating how much, but we can try to do it. Below example of ho...

More than one year later, GN still don't test fans. Bad thing is, this machinery was funded by supporters... Luckily we have great Aris Mpitz...

Bought components are fine, but I would think about planned ones: - you seem money concerned, so better have enough reasons to pay B650 Creator's quite high price besides just you being a creator. - given that it's first gen od DDR5 Ryzens, I would definitely go with ram confirmed on QVL list of cho...

Even the most expensive fans are not much from the perspective of how long they serve without giving reasons to upgrade (progress of fan market is depresingly slow). Even such fans are cheap compared to the cost of rest of the computer. And they determine your cooling and silence during all of this ...

Looks are the only thing which may sell this case and it's fine. I just don't like that aside from that it's just nothing special and doesn't even try to aim what Fractal used to aim: innovative and convenient engineering. It even doesn't have implemented Fractal's presented long ago objectively bet...

I can't see your images and I don't know what you mean by ,,slit exhaust". You mean this nowadays oldsql side panel grills for fan? Re: Strapping NF-A12x25's to a RTX 3070

To a point, I disagree. The 120x25mm fans I strapped onto a gfx card were whisper level audible at 500rpm when used as case fans. With the added resistance of the gfx card heat sink, they'd be louder at the same rpm. So, for over engineered solutions like the NF-A12's on a gfx card, 500rpm wouldn't...

Running the fan will never be quieter than no fan, but the thing is about silence - inaudibility. A lot of the fans (e.g. D15's ones) are able to run with inaudible speeds and then give you better temperature result than no fan. Today a lot of the fans, especially good or low-speed ones start from ~...
