I prefer a constant speed to a changing pitch, the latter is much more noticeable to me, even though the fans might be more quiet for most of the time.

Cool, great to hear you guys like it as much as I do. I've already convinced most of my friends to get one too, and I think I'll pick up a spare or two, just to be on the safe side if it should break and I won't be able to order a new one.

No mic I'm afraid, but it sounds much like any notepad I've worked on.

As for the gaming part I don't play many games, but the few I've tried has worked flawlessly.

Yes, they're full size, except for the F-keys which are smaller, but that's the case on most keyboards today.

It takes a bit of getting used to, but it does feel like a good notebook keyboard. The keys stay in place and doesn't move from side to side when you touch them, and everything feels very precise. I've used it for maybe 10 hours now and already I dislike using a regular keyboard. The overall finish ...

Logitech UltraX - Nice silent keyboard

In my quest for a new keyboard I stumbled upon this http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=partners/details&CRID=1389&parentCRID=925&SCRID=960&CONTENTID=7440&countryid=24&languageid=1 Not only is it very stylish, and lowprofile with it's notebook style keys, it's also the most quiet keyboard I've ow...

A little update. The chipset fan is attached to Sysfan 2, which is the second controllable fan header. I moved it to sysfan 3 so I can control the case fan with Silenttek. The board is perfect but for the lack of voltage control, that's a big disappointment, but of course my own fault for not checki...

Coolermaster 620 and Aopen MK79G-N first impressions

Since my pc lives in my living room appearance does matter a bit to me, and my old beige miditower was sticking out like a sore thumb after I replaced my Samsung CRT with an Acer Al732 TFT. I saw the review on Dan's Data of the Coolermaster 620 and decided to build a new pc around that. Luckily the ...

I have the same problem in WinXP pro. Set my harddrives to turn off after 5 minutes. The backup drive, which is only accessed once every 3 hours to do a backup, powers up again after a few minutes.

Yes, they're live, but only with 12V on them, might fry your stuff if they shortcircuit though.

When I change fan in a PSU I usually reuse the wires from the original fan for the new one, removing the loose wire effect :)

Congrats on your first mod, always nice to have success with stuff like that.

I have two Falconrock coolers, with the default fan I find them too loud, but turn it down to 5 volts and they're fine. I just changed one of the fan for a 12dB Papst, even better :)

I've been lurking here for a long time, and finally got around to registering. My almost always on, and fairly quiet, Athlon 1200@866 is crunching away, soon to be upgraded to an XP at whichever speed I can get away with my cooling.
