Samsung vs Seagate notebook drive
Hello all, Had a quick question. I was thinking of buying a new hard drive to replace the one in my notebook. I was thinking of the samsung vs this seagate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822146223 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822152024 I know they ar...

Samsung or Seagate hard drive?
Hey all. Im so lost? Both Samsungs SP line and Seagate Barracudas seem like excellent hard drives. However, which one is better? Im looking for an SATA one with 8mb cache.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hmm interesting. Well realigning probably doesn't take that long. I hated taking my HSF off my CPU during transporation because of the clips, whichi s why i finally went with bolt through. Hehe I guess im lazy. Thanks rtsai, youve been a great help heh. Last question though :) How does this compare ...

I am only taking it to and from home every quarter (3 times a year) and maybe a lan once or twice a year, so overall not too much moving. I guess i could pull it out of the straps, but that would be a pain. Plus, I have to flip the case on its side, so the with the BQE, the hard drive would be compl...

BQE-3700 PSU Duct Mod w/ only 1 drive spot?
Hey all, Ive seen some PSU ducting mods around and all of them seem to use two of the cdrom drive spots. However I have 2 cdroms and a rheobus ... and I really dont want to get rid of something. Do you think it would be enough airflow if I only used one of the front drive spots then make it expand t...

HELP!!! Summer is too hot! System unstable!
Hey guys, well during winter my PC was fine and dandy being quiet. Now its sumer in so cal, with system temperatures reaching 40C with all my fans at 12V. One intake 120mm Papst, 1 exauhst 120mm fan. Modded BQE PSU with a PAnaflo M1A, running at 12V. Thermalright SLK-947U. With a panaflo H1A. CPU te...

Newegg has an excellent RMA policy. My hard drive was DOA so i shipped it back. This is probably the only bad thing. You pay for shipping to them, they pay for it when it comes back to you. So automatically got approved for RMA online, shipped it back. A week later, theres a fedex box waiting for me...

I have an SLK947U, and the Zalman 47J. It doesn't fit completley, one pin is a bit too high, so it fits, but theres a small little spot that isn't covered. Since I don't overclock, or use onboard sound or SATA, my NB isn't doing much. So far no instability. I covered it with AS2 though, which im sur...

your computer breaks the laws of physics. Ambient is the lowest possible due to thermaldynamics. Heat transfers from hot to cold until equilibrium. If anything, they could be equal, but never CPU below ambient, nothing can be below ambient since if it was cooler, it would gain heat from ambient unti...

You seem to be stepping in the right direction. Here are some suggesstions though: 1) The thermalright SLK900 is an excellent heatsink, however the clip version will be a pain if you ever wish to transport your PC in a car. The bolt through method is much more secure, especially during transportatio...

those temps are seriously wrong. Ive tried configurations involving both a front fan and no front fan, and it did not change System temperatures at all. Do you have a rear exauhst fan? Or did you install the one that came with the BQE? Because ive never had a PC run that hot unless it was in high am...

Is PSU exauhst suppossed to be considerably warmer?
I just modded my Antec SL350S with a Panaflo M1A fan. I notice no matter how low or high the voltage is, the exauhst out of the PSU is considerably warmer than the air surrounding it. When i feel the exauhst from the 120mm rear exauhst fan, it is quite cool. Is this normal?? Thanks

How to monitor PSU temp and Gooey stuff in PSU normal?
Hey guys, i got two quick PSU questions. 1) How do you monitor the PSU temperature? I just modded my PSU with a PAnaflo M1A, and was wondering when to turn the voltage up, and when ti is okay to turn it down. 2) When i opened my PSU, there was some white gooey stuff all over the place. Looked lkinda...
