so, for a not-so-up-on-it silencer, what are the main differences between the 150/160/180?
Obviously the look and placement of some of the things are different but performance wise, are there any comparissons of the 160/180 and speculation against the 150?
Thanks

Bluefront, thank you...we SFFers need some quiet fans :) 60mm - sleeve bearing, plain black because they are going in PSUs usually or on NB heatsinks and so the bling bling factor will probably just cause problems/price increase. RPM monitoring is a must but variable controls would probably just get...

The reason I ask is because the fillport must be at the point of highest elevation in the cooling loop to get a proper fill and bleedout of air in the loop, and if the radiator is at the top of the loop with fittings pointed straight down, I think life will be difficult indeed. Hey, Ed, do you have...

I was thinking about setting up a push-pull with a 120mm and 92mm nexus setup (with the 92mm only ramping up at higher temps). And I had heard that heatercores were cheaper and better than the BIPs. I'm one of those poor college students (arent we all) so cash it tight...and I'm building in a shuttl...

best 120mm Heartercore/rad for low flow fan
Hey guys,
For those of you who have any experience with it, any idea what the best 120mm rad would be for the quiet/lowflow/low static pressure fans that we use?
I have heard that single pass ones are good, but could you elaborate on that for me...I'm still new to this
Thanks

Help me identify this fan...please
I have a globe 120mm fan that came on a case and I'm trying to find out the specs and if it's going to be at all quiet.
It's a sleeve bearing with a silver/purple sticker and number S07138812L DC12V 0.18A
Does anyone know how quiet/undervolatble these are?
Thanks

Please review the SilenX
I know there is a lot of bad blood and getting reviewed here is a privaledge which the owner has probably foregone, but please, can you at some point review a SilenX fan so that we can have some bearing of real life regarding them. At best/worst depending on your view, we will find out how bad they ...

WCing a shuttle - need rad advice
Mornin folks, I'm trying to figure out what rad would go well with a quiet 80 or 92mm fan. The only problem is that it will be going in a shuttle so it can't be huge and it cant be a dual fan thang. The plan right now is to be cooling an AMD 2500+ and the NB which powers dual monitors on the built i...

Yes it is a shuttle, I would like to avoid cutting it up too much. I will be WCing it at some point and may WC the PSU but in the mean time I am desperate to shut up the fans that are in there. The sunon 80mm that came with the case didnt impress me, but I will look into it. Any more for any more? T...

40mm fan suggestions
before you say it..I know...40mm can't be quiet but still I must try.
I noticed that the silenx 40mm are not to popular, I was considering adda, any other suggestions?
Unfortunately modding for 60mm isn't possible (It's a SFF PSU fan ).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

plastic/ruberized drive cages
Does anyone have an opinion on the potential benefits/downsides to custom building a plastic/hard ruber/ruberized metal drive cage? The obvious advantage would be some degree of vibration dampening, the obvious downside would be the loss of heat transfer, but if you already have a suspended HDD, doe...

I have a shuttle I'm trying to get to about the same amount of silence as you. There are a few things to keep in mind: 1) suspension is out of the question unless you are willing to saccrifice the DVD drive or put it externally as there is only one 5.25 cage. 2) replace the rear fan with an L1A or s...

Mounting Spin Point 1213N
hey guys, quick few questions: I just got my Spin point drive and am puting it into my SFF case...so no enclosures of hanging for me :( but I got some of the vantec vibration dampeners (every little bit helps) and was wondering: should I use screw-washer-case-HDD or screw-case-washer-HDD or just go ...
