Looks as though the problem is coming under control now as the AS3 settles in. temps about 46deg when playing mp3's now, and 38deg idling.
time seemed to be the best solution for this problem.

XP2500/A7N8X Cooling Problem?
I have finally finished my silent system, with much help from you guys through reading the ever helpful forums & the excellent articles. Im very happy with the noise levels of my PC (infact the only noise it makes is some coil whine coming from the motherboard somewhere, but i can tolerate that!). R...

zalman heatpipes will be overkill on the 8500. either do the budget option & simply disconnect the fan (which i have done & my 8500 has been fine for the last 4 months, even coming into peak of summer), or opt for the less expensive zalman HS for lower powered graphics cards if you want to be extra ...

You can use fan isolators from EAR to isolate the PSU fan as you would any other case fan, although you wont be able ot mount a grill on it. Depending on where you live an L1A may not move enough CFM fo rthe TruePower PSU, aim for an M1A or Papst fan instead. & i have no experience of YSTech fans so...

Antec True Power with 1 fan?
Currently my Antec True Power 330W PSU has 2 fans. What are your opinions on removing the intake fan from the PSU, sealing the hole & widening the passive intake at the front of the PSU (in theory geting cooler air flowing over the components rather than hot CPU exhaust air)? Also will the unit stay...

because of the way the istyle has its drive cages, there isnt enough room to fit a 92mm anywhere at the front unless you remove the HDD/FDD cage completely. I cut an 80mm hole inbetween the drive cage walls & cut away some plastic from the front of the case at the bottom (so its concealed) & stickin...

PSU - Fan Isolators
I have an Antec True Power 330W.
Will mounting the fans with EAR fan isolators make a great deal of difference?
& does any body know if the isolators may not stand up to the heat inside the PSU, or if the isolators create clearance problems inside the PSU?
Thanks.

since a threads been opened about this then... i have installed some fan mounts, but theyre in a very tight spot (its an istyle case & so some cutting was required for a front vent in front of the drive mounts). I havent started the thing up yet, but theres a gap of only 1mm inbetween the fans side ...

Other things to consider: For CPU Paste I strongly reccomend Shin-Etsu. It drops temps a few more C than AS3, but is a lot more difficult to apply (and takes 3 days to reach its ideal temps!). Its generally sold under the Cooler-Master brand. i bought some of this stuff 7 it was quite expensive, i ...

The 3412L is just a tad louder than the Panaflo, nothing major. Definately a quiet fan. agreed. I have just purchased a 3412L from dorothy & have found it to be fine. not silent (even at lower voltages) but a heck of a load quieter than my previous zalmann 92mm. Im wondering what 92mm Panaflos are ...
