I routinely use this approach
Invert the reserator and remove the screw-on foot. Then simply heat the cylinder with a hand held hair dryer set on high. Avoid heating the base if you can while getting as close to it as possible. Once the cylinder is reasonably hot place a plastic bag of ice on the base itelf for a few minutes. Th...

Ed, is your BFG card a Geforce 7800 GTX? While BFG is selling the GeForce 7800 GTX, assumptions based on their previous cards don't apply as Nvidia didn't give them enough time to deviate from the reference design. Yes it is. I ended up getting rid of my two XFX cards and getting a BFG one (long st...

The air cooled 7800gtx temps you guys are posting is making me feel a lot better about my 58 degree peak load with my Reserator 1 with the new Zalman VGA cooler. I had been wondering how it stacked up but I took the stock air cooler off before installation. Anyone notice the trip level temp in the c...

I'm interested on the answer as well. I'm thinking of installing reserator with AMD Clawhammer 4000+ and ATI X800XL. The question is what is CPU temp and GPU temp expected in loop under reserator? Which one better, CPU first or GPU first? I've run a 3700+ San Diego and an X800XT PE with the Reserat...

One thought. AMD has leaked info on a 4200+ San Diego single core that is supposed to be coming soon (August?, No one really seems to know) that's clocked at 2600 with 1 MB cache. That might be a useful upgrade over the 3700+ and might be worth waiting for. I say this as a happy 3700+ owner (it's a ...

As a Reserator user who would like to move up to a dual video card / FX CPU system in the future this looks intriguing. It definitely looks like a huge upgrade in cooling capacity. But somehow I suspect that Thermaltake + 2 pumps + 5 fans does not = silent. Quiet maybe. But silent? Even reworked wit...

The other nice thing about this kit - the use of UV light in conjunction with clear tubing. (Don't get me wrong - I don't care for the look) UV light is used in many medical laboratories and medical liquid reagent filling plants in some equipment and in medical grade water purifiying systems just to...

Another vote from me. Im running an Athlon 3000+ and Radeon 800 PE with a Reserator and Phantom and what used to sound quiet (SP-97, undervolted Pannys everywhere & chassis damping) now seems raucous in comparison. And the Phantom never gets more than luke warm no matter how hard I push it. The Rese...

Silenx really silent or is mine defective?
I just installed the 14 Db 400 watt SilenX in my 3.06 Athlon and while the fan noise is for all intents and purposes nonexistent it is no way silent. The moment I powered it up I got a high frequency whine exactly like the sound of a color TV when it is on. This is clearly audible 4 to 5 feet away -...
