Just wondering if all graphics cards are 32-bit capable. Have my eye on a Powercolor Radeon 9250, but in its specs it has 24-bit only at maximum resolution (2048 x 1536).
Now my crappy old Geforce can run at 32-bit so i'm assuming that the 9250 can, but not at mamimum res. Anyone have any ideas?

I think it might rely on whether you get a good sample of a psu. I've been running my Q-tech psu at 5.5v on a Zalman fanmate for about a year without problems so far, and my 'other' fan is a 92mm Papst running at 5v. For much of this time I fooled around with overclocking, and had a 9500 pro, and it...

Ha-ha, it's like a dare to see who goes first! Well out of politeness I must say after you dear fellow! Seriously though, I'd like to get a laptop drive and use it in a silentdrive as my next upgrade, and then I'll think about the psu. I'm running a Zalman with a 5v L1A at the moment, and I'm not su...

Ach, I'm a fool.... a fool I tell you. Thankyou for your help! I've just done that and it works. I don't suppose anyone has managed to use one of those brick psus to power an athlon setup? I've seen ones that claim to work with intel boards, and seeing as the most stenuous workout the pc gets is int...

Can't use Kostik's Cpu Power calculator
Hi,
I've tried using this, but I can't click on the process button at the bottom right in order to calculate power ratings. Could someone who has it working calculate the power for an Athlon XP 2100 thoroughbred at 1.1v Vcore and 1064 clock? Much obliged if you can.

Ok, have managed to create a batch file with a utility and put it in the startup folder, and the program now begins at startup. I've come unstuch at the editing part in order to decrease vcore on startup. I understand i have to use: 8rdavcore -s 1.3 or whatever, but how do I manage this? If I open m...

Ahh... the rubber works!
Well, after reading Leo Quan's article about using rubber to silence his hard drive's, I thought i'd try it to silence my Barracuda IV even further. Living in the UK, I couldn't find the carving rubber easily, but managed to get some Speedy Stamp blocks. These are about 1/4 inch rather than 3/8 inch...

I've just modded the rear of my evercase to take a 120mm fan, but it needs a fair bit of work to do it, and once it's in, the only way to mount it quietly is to rest it on the pci alcove section. Luckily I have an NMB fan which doesn't seem to vibrate at all, so it works OK for me. Nice airflow, tho...

Temperature sensor positioning
Do all motherboards have their system temperature sensors placed to the left of the PCI slots, below the graphics card? I've been trying to find out why my mobo temps refuse to budge, and found that the Epox 8rda+ sensor is located in the bottom rear of the case. I understand that the air here is st...

Yep, 5-volted the NMB. It's one of Dorothy's B30s. Unfortunately it came as a 2 wire with Molex connection, so I had to change the connection to a mobo one, and then undervolt it. The idea was to test out a variety of fans- I've read Dorothy's comments about 120mm and 92mm fans with interest, so bou...

120mm vs twin 80mm
I see many people on this forum are tnding towards 120mm case fans for cooling higher powered systems, which are also silent, but I'm wondering how you have made these silent. Having experimented with a 120mm NMB fan(15db, 37cfm) I don't see where the silence fits in. All I can hear is wind noise, a...

GMC intake vents?
Does anyone have a GMC/Ahanix case? What does the front intake vent look like? I'm looking at the neo classic or the Noblesse, which both seem to have a similar btottom on the front bezel. One review of the Noblesse seems to suggest that the case only runs cool when the drive bay flap at the bottom ...

Sorry, had problems posting so I rushed the post.
http://www.evercase.com/indexfs.html
On the main page it says it has the rear 120mm, but on the "inside view " it says it's only 80mm. Maybe they should tout this a bit more. If it has a 120mm, it might sell pretty well.

Did a bit more scouting and found the Evercase 4272, which seems to be a 4252 with a 120mm at the rear, and a few cosmetic differences, which may or may not affect the airflow. Can't really tell from the pictures, but will find out if they will be available in the UK on monday. could be a great case...

Other Evercases?
Anyone seen this?
http://www.evercase.co.uk/Web%20Pages/Z ... 000,LX.htm
seems to be around £65 inc vat and delivery, and whilst not having airflow as good as the 4252, you can stick a 92mm at the back, and have a bit more airflow. Any thoughts?

Kostik, while incrdibly quiet in free air, and able to blow a lot of air at the same time, I found once this fan was installed at the front om my evercase, it started to make a fair bit of noise. At first I thought this was turbulence due to the hd right in front of it, but moving the hd to the back...

Actually, if you use EAR fan mounts through the front grille you can mount a 120mm x 25mm without any mods at all. The fan does angle upwards a little where the front panel catch resides at the bottom of the case, but I found this useful in angling the airflow over my hd, which sits on foam at the f...
