Ralf - Yes, that is the correct link for the Evercool hard drive cooler. A couple of notes on this setup: I really like the Kingwin Tray-less rack, it's nice not to have to buy a tray for every hard drive. There are a couple of drawbacks though: - Drives not in use are not protected by a tray. - The...

8mm is a little more restrictive than I'd like, does anyone have some suggestions on alternatives? Cheers, Dean What size tubing does your system use? I'm looking for the Noise Magic NoVibes 2.5" laptop drive holder - but I can't find it available anywhere in the US since Silicon Acoustics has sold out and is now going out of business. I suspect, as people have suggested, that the logic/firmware in this enclosure is too old to handle a 300GB drive. I think I'll put the 120GB drive back into it and get a new enclosure for the 300GB drive. I had planned to get a second enclosure anyway so I could use both the 120GB and 300GB drives ...

Good idea, I'll give it a try.NoizEnvader wrote:Most likely the enclosure. You could try and partition the HDD into 3 x 100GB partitions and see if that works. Note that only one (first) partition will be recognized (i.e. HDD will be recognized as 100GB). This will confirm that it is the enclosure.
Thanks

OT: Large Drives in USB Enclosures
I bought a 300GB Seagate 7200.8 PATA hard drive with the intention of using it in an external USB2 enclosure. The problem is that when I plug the enclosure, with the new drive in it, into any USB port on my computer WinXP does not recognize it. I connected the drive directly to an IDE channel and wa...

The marketing text for that Polarflo block says: "The low profile design will fit into the smallest cases and with the low flow performance, you don't have to worry about your pump-life."
