Interestingly it seems that a lot of people who have been complaining about the loud clunking sound seem to have RMA'd the drives and received more silent ones in return.

I don't know if this affects 6TB models since they might have been released after? The whole thing sounds weird, but at the same time, WD did make quite a significant change to the specs on seek noise, and it would seem like there is a lot more people around the internet complaining about loud seeks...
