NSK2400 and USB2.0

Anyone having problems getting the USB ports working as USB2.0.

I've tried the NSK2400 on both my motherboard pinouts and my USB HD claims that it doesn't support USB2.0 and hence slow.

I've tried the exact same pinouts on a USB bracket and they work fine as USB2.0 ports.

I'm using an Artic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro modified to fit the nsk2400 and running passively via one of the exhaust fan on low. Freezer64 only cost me 11 UKP, so a great price. Also had to mod my fanless gigabyte 6600gt to fit in. Need to see if the Antec fans can run off the 5V molex to make is quie...

I've just replaced my gigabyte passive 6600gt with the same leaktek 6800gt. Obviously the 6600gt was silent. I didn't have any heat issue that others have spoken about. My system is a DFI NF4 SLI with a AMD64 3.5, CPU cooled by the big alcu Zalman, NB replace with a purple zalman hedgehog. All stuck...

I've installed the Panaflo 80x15 in place of the orig PSU fan and attached it to the PSU's internal fan connector. Everything seems fine and the system can Prime for hours. My temps are now stable at CPU 60 MB 49 at load and CPU 45 and MB 47 idle. I don't think I need to do much more other than test...

I spent last night tweaking the system. Attached the FanMate onto the CPU fan with QFan enabled. Got Prime95 warming the system up and found that temps only 1-2c difference under load between min/max fanmate. The noise improvements between min/max was fairly pronounced, but quiet in both cases Attac...

I'm running a Pundit-R with a Celeron 330D with two Tv Tuners, DVD and obviously a HD. These things are lovely. I agree that the system isn't exactly quiet so I stuck a Fanmate2 onto the CPU fan. Suprisingly, it doesn't make a great deal of difference no matter how far you turn the knob. This isn't ...

Asus Pundit-R (Oh my god)

This thing is bloody loud!!!! I'm sure many people would be happy with the noise that this thing makes. But after modding my Sonata with undervolted Panaflos, AcoustiFoam (tm) and EAR grommets, I can definately say that it's LOUD in my ears. It's not just the whooshing noise that's the problem, this...

I agree that replacing the Sonata's PSU fan with something a little quieter make a big difference. Having just replaced the Antec fan with a ystech silent, the PSU is no longer the loudest component. I agree about the lack of porousness (sic) in that it would reflect most of the noise instead of absorbing it. It's not dense enough to act as deadening either.

Oh welll, can't be any worst than paxmate. :D

Anyone tried the AcostiPack for Sonata yet, I'm considering it if it works.

Is TruPower 380S + Panaflo L1a safe???

Everyone knows that the Sonata's got a 'loud' PSU (in comparison to these new fandango silent ones). Is is safe to replace the fan with a L1A. Does the L1A provide enough airflow using the PSU's fan control. And finally, given that the Sonata has very restricted intake, would the L1A cope with fight...

Having tried taping the holes myself, I find that they aid cooling the PSU and therefore keeping the fans at a slower speed.

Overal case and CPU temp went up several degrees but no real probs.
Noise definately went up as well.

Wouldn't advise blocking the holes unless you mod the front intake.

Speedstep emulation

Obviously speedstep is a hardware method of reducing power consuption on mobile CPUs. It is possible for software to adjust voltage supplied to the CPU. I know you can tweak the FSB in software. It would be great to reduce heat when the computers idling along and to pump up the ju9ice when I need it.

PSU fan isolators

Has anyone found a way of isolating the fan inside a PSU. I've got a TruPower from a Sonata and it's usually spinning at 1700-1800 which produces the most noise at the moment. Yes, I tried that combination as well. Overall, the fan direction had little perceivable affect on the core temp.

I do know that the mobo temp is higher with the holes covered, this is probably due to the extra heat that is gained whilst travelling from the front to the CPU.

Having left my system on for a few days with the "antec" holes covered, the overall temp has risen by 2-3 degrees, the PSU fan has also increased in speed by ~1000 revs and obviously extra noise with it.

Time to look into a panaflo L1A to replace my PSU.
