The past days have been real hot at work so I bought a USB-fan to cool myself
Problem is the el-cheapo thing makes a horrible racket. Who could suggest a quiet USB-fan?

iDEQ 330P
Would someone have some more information on the iDEQ 330P and the noise it produces?
It looks like a well thought out design.

New PC-Case: Arctic Cooling Silentium
Arctic Cooling is releasing a new case, the Silentium... What do you think of the PSU-setup and the case in general?

Yes, the tool works. I've been using my two DM+9 SATA drives with AAM enabled for some time now. No problems whatsoever. I've even learned not to strain my ears trying to hear the seeking. :D great that'll solve the single drive sound issue... Did you put your drives in RAID? it's a FastTrak chipse...

Maxtor DiamondMax 9 AAM?
I own three of these drives, SATA models...
three questions:
Can they be AAM enabled with the Hitachi feature tool?
Will it destroy any data if I do so?
Two of the drives run in RAID, is RAID a problem to enable AAM?
Thanks!

Re: undervolting P4 2.8c
1.525 is stock, so you're not getting much of an undervolt there. is'tn the stock is 1.555 ? the range i can choose: 1.525 to 1.875 I don't know for sure but 0.03 does indeed seem like nothing much as a range to change voltages... therefor I wonder if there are bios versions that have more range li...

undervolting P4 2.8c
I've been reading some stuff about undervolting, that it could be a great help in keeping things cool. I'm wondering, my fellow P4C800 Deluxe owners: I have set the voltage and fsb timings to manual. I have then set the CPU voltage to 1.52 (lowest setting possible). Asus probe still reports around 1...

I don't have any experience with the panaflo's. had papsts previously. But nonetheless, I'd say the acoustifans are excellent, they come with rubber gommets and a voltage-changing-cable (whatever it is called). the thermometer really does change the fans speed in a range of about 500,600 rpm in my s...

I realize I blocked the front-intake. So contrary to what I have read about the dBox' front intake being pointless since it has a control panel in front of the intake, the intake DOES make a great deal of difference. But again, I'm not going to open up the intake again if there are other ways. So fi...

The case is there was a front-fan before I put in the acousti-stuff... but since it's the dBox case I have and everybody kept telling that fan isn't able to pull in much air at all, I just covered the front up with acousti-foam to silence the loud HD's... Airflow setup idea
In the picture below you can see my current setup that's too loud for me. Temps are acceptable CPU idle temp is 40°C (a bit high) (load = 54°C). I currently pull in fresh air from the back (intel 80mm stock @ 5v) and to a much lesser degree from the front (papst 80mm 1500rpm). I have a Zalman 400A t...

I use my back PCI slots to cool the VGA-card with a Zalman heatsink. I used the stock Intel CPU cooler at 5v, it hangs at the outside... it works really great for me. http://users.pandora.be/maartenonline/truyenstest/Koele%20PC%20004.jpg http://users.pandora.be/maartenonline/truyenstest/Koele%20PC%2...

The Zalman psu is a good quality unit I know it's a good quality, and it's not even a year old either. Nontheless, the fan has been making noise from the start it has starting to make some new ticking sound in the last month... Therefor I am considering changing the fan, but by the looks of the uni...

Replacing a fan in a psu can range from trivial, if it's a standard size fan connected to a standard 3-pin header, to not so easy Thank you for your comment, I'm pretty sure that i'll order the Acoustipak Deluxe set. The fans also look like great quality. But for the PSU concern, the PSU I've bough...
