Very noisy Antec TruePower 480w
Hi there, I'm on a quest for a silent PC and currently the only thing making any noise in it is the very loud Antec True480 PSU. It has 2 fans... An 80mm at the back and a 120mm in the base. I took out the 80mm and it's still just as noisy. The RPM on the remaining fan goes up from 1800 to 3000+ onc...

Useful diagnostic tip - thanks! I don't think the fans are running high. Now that I'm home from work I can give you all a bit more info... CPU Temp = 30C MoBo Temp = 33C CPU Fan RPM = 1360 PSU Fan RPM = 1748 Case Fan RPM = 2177 The Case Fan is powered from the P4C800 MoBo so RPMs should be linked to...

Could I disable one of the fans? Would that make it quieter? Are the stock fans good quality (i.e. ultra quiet)? Would there be a reduction in noise if I replaced them? If so what should I replace them with? I have three case fans in my Coolermaster 101 case (back, top & front/bottom) although only ...
