Use L1A instead, I think @7V would be more than enough for that PSU.

OK, after a week of so of 24/7 running, I think the airflow is more than enough for a decent cooling. Even with 2xprime95 ([email protected]), at 7V it's perfectly stable, temps more or less OK :)

Those low voltages seems not to interact with stability in any way.

Yes, some problems fitting it. But I took a cutter and chop it off in no-time :) In the second picture can be seen the right corner of the fan.

Thanks, it has been a long night :)

Yea, I noticed it's upside down after I started to chop it :D and I left it this way... but that's not a big issue.

OK, fanswap&airflow mod done. Now I have: 1 Papst 4412 F2/GL 120mm 1 Panaflo M1A 92mm Japan 1 Panaflo L1A 80mm China All of them connected to Akasa fan controller Jr, at 5V most of the time. HDD is not like in the picture, today I changed it and put some rubber bolts in the default BQE tray (which a...

It's a single fan unit (SL350 S P), but as long as I searched, it seems the only difference between the dual fan unit is, guess what, no second fan :D I will open it tonight and I will also post some pics, if needed. I found a GREAT L1A, at 5-7V it simply beautiful, it does not have any clicking or ...

Since it's the same platform I tested with a calibrated multimeter.. I think I can estimate, at least. Antec 430W TP - 11.86-11.92V (software) 12.01- 12.02V multimeter Antec SL350SP - 11.55-11.73V (software) XXX to be tested :) All SL350 speeds up like this? On Spcr website the review says that samp...

Antec SL350SP issues.

I got the 3700BQE. Great case, default 120mm fan will soon be replaced wtih good ol' papst. But, the PSU (Antec SL350 SP ) has two main issues: 1. It undervolts like hell (+12V gets even to 11.55V) 2. When full load the fan spins with ~2300RPM. I think the termistor makes contact with one of the hea...

antec 430W TP, whine. Nothing else (Seagate 7200.7, Panaflo M 92mm, Antec fans in a 1080 enclosure). But the PSU is killing me, i need 2 Panafo fans for her :)

And how does it sounds? Compared to a 7200.7 for example?

good choice. I have a slk900 and even with very low airflow (like noname fan@5v ~1000RPM) you will get decent temps. Just be careful, not all slk900 are smooth, i had to do some lapping on mine. (btw it did not improve much, even if i also made the cpu to full copper..)

i had one and I am quite happy. In combination with thermalright slk900u, a couple of panaflo's (3x80mm+1x92 for heatsink), and a quiet hdd, it's the powerfull "semi-silent" combination you can get. Very solid and heavy. Unfortunately for me, no panaflo and no quiet hdd(but soon:)). For instance I a...

if you still have the recorded sound, could you please post it again? I think it has been erased. Also, I believe this sound came from Hitachi manufacturing. I had an notebook drive (40gb/4200RPM Hitachi) who had exactly the same sound, let's say 3 times / 6 hours. It didnt bother, because it was a ...

Radeonman, what do you mean? How could they do horrible in raid 0 for example? It's the sound or the performance? It's true is something mentionned on the 'cuda IV review; but no other details. I found something about it http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/storage/display/barracuda-ata4-raid0.html is t...

yep, thats why i dont even try to reduce it to silence. 2 'cuda IV 2x40gb in raid would have better performance and more silence ofcourse.

i have a relatively offtopic question, but it's related to 'cuda IV. Two 40gb would be ok? I read something about bad performance in RAID on the silentpcreview.. Also the sound it's stronger ofcourse with two of them, but how much?

ok then; also my JB sounds like hell :> I will replace it asap. and it's performance isn't great at all. you may download the recorded sound from here: http://drusty.ro/wd_jb.wav even if i have an antec 1080amg enclosure, witch is not truly "quiet", the JB covers 6 80mm fans(3 case fan+2psu fan+1cpu...
