Is it a 479 pin or 478 pin 1.7 P-M?

Thanks.

I have a fujitsu-siemens D1562. I personally don't use silent fan but thats because my PC is always under 100% load running folding@home. It works as you have decribed it and whether it is of any use to you will depend how you plan to use the PC. My setup is - D1562, P4 3.0C + aerocool DP102 + panaf...

Hi Petr, Thankyou for the explaination. I understand how you derived at the results but still think that an attempt should be made at measuring the power. It is not that I doubt your calculations but the figures supply by both AMD and INTEL. As an example AMD specifies the XP2400+ has a maximum Tpow...

Here's it's almost a case of identity theft. Not quite because they did not take the name or logo, but they really did take just about everything else, and the design is so close to the 7000 that it could be mistaken for a 7000. Also, the copycat in this case has no identity or presence in the mark...

Compucase 6K27 with CPU duct

Whilst looking for a micro atx case, I stumbled onto this very interesting case. According to compucase the 8cm fan can be replace by a 9cm fan. It should appeal to those who wanted a CPU duct but don't know where to start.

I am thinking of getting one but have read conflicting reports on the forums. So, a quick straw poll. Are you satisified with the noise / silence levels of your Enermax Noisetaker? Looking at your sig. I going to guess the noise is caused by the 74G RAPTOR. You can verify this by placing the drive on a piece of foam on the bottom of the case. If the hum goes away then the BQE is not going to solve your problem.

After a long chat with Ralf Hutter, we have come to the conclusion that the dual-12V lines are not the only source of voltage for the P4. RH mentioned that with earlier lower powered P4s, they actually could run without the dual-12V line plugged into the motherboard; just that when you try to put a...

If both statements are true it means the rest of the system (MB, VGA, HDD, FAN) only draws 15.5W :!: . With everything at idle, isn't that reasonable? The short answer is I don't know. System power draw was 131W (AC) - efficiency of the Seasonic SS300FS PSU powering this system is 72% at this power level (from previous testing results). This means it was delivering 94W to the system: 6.6A on the P4-2.8 = 78.5W . If both statements are true it means the rest of the system (MB, VGA...

The motherboard and RAM should draw at least 20W, seagate rates the barracuda at 9.8W idle - will the VGA draw 13W? If we assume the VGA only draws 5W then the CPU draws 57W.

Besides, how were you able to isolate the power to the CPU section alone? What was your load? And how did you measure AC power? (Not nitpicking -- curious about your test setup). AC power was measured using a Power Meter similar to the Kill-A-Watt meter you use. DC current was measured using a CLAM...

Passive ATI 9200 128MB, just ran CPUBURN - 141W. The motherboard does not undervolt, 1.55V is what it defaults too so I may as well overclock it.
