The Shuttle x100 supposedly supports Core2. But they don't offer it as an option yet, so you would have to upgrade afterward. I hope they intend to eventually sell it as a barebone.

I was pleased to hear that it is in fact a Seasonic but I was prepared to swap the fan anyway.

I believe it is on the SPCR future review list.

I'm not too worried about the hard drive mounting seeing as there is so much room for suspension. Should be a good case.

Pictures!!

You can get PC speakers which dangle directly off the mother board where you would normally just plug in the case speaker. Most PC shops should carry this.

Can't wait to get mine. How is the noise of the power supply?

Either way, my main point was that you should disable the auto layout feature and get something other than the windows disk defragmenter.

Microsoft recommends you leave it on and I think it's mostly used in the background or for reserved memory. What would be more important would be to disable the automatic harddrive layout with TweakUI and to get a more effective defragmenter than the one that comes with Windows.

That's what I did with my SN45G. The PCB was facing outwards so I had to flip the PSU around and cut an 80mm hole in the side. I had it blowing air into the case which then went right through the CPU fan. Temps were fine. However, with an 80mm fan there you will have to rotate your hard drive 90 deg...

To find out how much noise it makes either stop the fan with your finger while it's running and/or boot your computer without your 7200.7s plugged in. Unfortunately, the 9600Pro doesn't come with any of the features you're asking about. You might be able to safely slow down the fan with a resistor. ...

A friend of mine has a Toshiba 42" DLP which apparently has 2 fans. One is set somewhere inside the box and isn't noticeable but the other is near the outside and is unreasonably loud. It's a 92mm NONOIse, unsure of model number. It barely pushes any air but makes quite a racket.

Get TweakUI 2.10 and under the 'General' settings there is a check box for 'Optimize hard disk when idle' that is on by default. I always uncheck it.

When I first looked into undervolting, before buying my NF7-S, the tutorials used wire similar to your first attempt but shaped it into a 'U' and placed in the pin holes of the cpu socket. When the cpu was inserted, the pins would make contact with the wire and short them out. I've been meaning to t...

Hey vertigosity, I did mount the fan on the inside of the case, but this required me to rotate the hard drive by 90˚. Also, in its current position, the PCB of the PSU is facing the inside of the case and mounting a fan there would not do anything. You first need to flip the PSU around. If you try t...

I just rigged an 80L1A to mine and aside from the HDD (MP0402H on order), it's pretty close to silent. Going to experiment with some dampening next. A 60mm at 5v would also make a huge difference in noise and be more than enough airflow.

They were small pieces of aluminium L-channel. About 6mm thick (3/8"?) and each side was about 5cm wide. I cleaned them up, cut the side that screws into the HD to a reasonable size and drilled holes in the top side. My dad milled the 'fins' at work.
