Re: Recommend a Silent Mouse and Keyboard?
While a bit cheap feeling, Gearhead's $7.50 keyboard from Office Depot is reasonably quiet. And cheap, which is a bonus if you're on a budget. In fact, I may buy another one today, as the only extra keyboards I have are ps2 based.

[*] Play Blu-ray (I understand that it's not yet working easily on Linux) ... I might drop the "Blu ray" objective btw. I could just buy a cheap BD drive without wasting time with software config to play BD disc. You can get the movies (only, not the extras or menus) to play in Linux by installing ...

Re: Recommend a Silent Mouse and Keyboard?
Anyone knows how good the mice at quietmouse.com are nowadays? I have a mouse from 3 years ago that is excellent in terms of noise, but it looks like they've changed the model up.

I've been veeeeeeeeeeeeeery busy, so I'm months behind on getting a word in on the second mouse sample I got. But in a nutshell, it is a GREAT mouse. The first sample I received (banana-shaped) turned out to be somewhat uncomfortable for me. The new mouse is quiet, more comfortable, and seems to hol...

Recommendations between two Antec PSUs?
A couple of months ago, my Antec 350w Phantom died. Today, Antec e-mailed me and said that since they no longer make that PSU, they can't swap out the bad PSU with another Phantom. They even referred to it as a 550w, when mine was the truely fanless 350w. :( The offered me one of the following PSUs ...

The audible click is necessary for knowing when the mouse button has been actuated. The original design for the mouse included this sound because it was otherwise difficult to tell when the button press had registered. I don't need a click to tell me when I depress the mouse. When I see the effects...

Tranformers the Movie on Blu-Ray
I just received this import today. Fortunately, it plays just fine on a North American PS3. http://bluray.highdefdigest.co...rmersmovie1986_uk.html For those skeptical on if there's any improvement for a cartoon movie, going from DVD to Blu-Ray, here are some more comparison shots: http://www.avsfor...

I received another review sample today from Quietmouse. I'll post my thoughts on it in a week or two. SPCR has already posted a review on it (both models, actually) here if you've missed it. Also, the quietmouse.com website is now active if you're interested in checking it out.[/url]

Soon after I started reading your post, I realized my eyes were facing a wall of letters. A picture of the mouse from different angles (including below) would have been nice to break up this monotonous wall of letters. 1. That's insulting. 2. My media card's broken right now. *EDITED FOR CLARITY ON...

The Quiet Mouse (review-ish)
Back in December, I was contacted by the owner of quietmouse.com. He wanted a few SPCR-ians to try out one of his quiet mice and give some feedback for it. I've had it for over a month now, and have been behind on posting my reactions on it (minor car accident, starting a new full-time job, having t...

Wanted: Sony 34XBRBR960 Television
Yeah, not really computer related but it's no longer in production and I'm having problems tracking one down. If anyone has the 960 in good working shape and lives in the Charlotte NC area (or a reasonable driving distance) e-mail me.

Making a new system... cheaply
Seeing as how my P4 in my sig is getting on in years, I'd like to upgrade a few things, but I don't have a lot of money to do so, while I'm paying off a substantial amount of debt. On some major computer or "hot deal" site, there's a thread recommending the cheapest system you can make, which is upd...

Need some advice for some CHEAP parts
I haven't upgraded my rig for years, and it turns out that if I want to play Bioshock I have to have a Smart Shader 3.0 card. Seeing as how my current motherboard takes AGP cards, I pretty much have to get a new motherboard that takes the new PCI Express standard. So if someone can recommend some pa...

While still a bit pricy (and it's still available elsewhere, I just didn't bother to check) the aluminum version is more than sufficient, at half the price: http://www.endpcnoise.com/cgi-bin/e/std ... e2002.html

My brother gave me his Geforce 4600 when it was still one of the best cards you could get. It wasn't working, and he told me I was welcome to keep it and try to fix it. The problem? The 40mm fan was CLOGGED with cat hair to the point it couldn't move. Heat with a crappy, non-passively designed cooli...

Need computer chair recommendation
A couple of months ago, my computer chair broke. Since then I've been forced to sit ramrod-straight in a kitchen chair. My back hurts from doing this all the time. Looking for recommendations for a chair that has armrests and is comfortable to sit in while doing typing, gaming... crap like that. Als...

Neo 430w question
You'll have to forgive me; I've had a couple of really tiring days and aren't willing to go dumpster diving (so to speak) through the many threads on the Neo line, most of which revolve around them dying. Anyway, I have either an A4 or an A5, so rebooting or power failures aren't the problem. It's t...

You just have to be careful with designin the system: My system has a Nexus at 650rpm blowing on the Phantom I have, and it keeps everything nice and frosty. I still use an 80mm fan on my VGA heatsink (Nexus) but it's undervolted to the point where I can't hear it. I also run the system fan at 650rp...
