BTW If you want to take a single sentence and concentrate on that whilst ignoring the others it just makes you look silly. Did I? First of all, I'm not a native English speaker, it is an acquired language for me. I'm sorry if my way of expressing myself is a bit quirky or grammatically incorrect. A...

IE can be perfectly safe to use if you are shrewd, likewise you dont need AV and Firewall software. Me and my colleagues talked about it briefly, everybody laughing about it, shrugged and went back to work developing our application. As soon as any of the salesreps phoned in, they were advised to g...

I think there are big differences in power consumption between different 4850 SKU's. This makes no sense! Anandtech : The 4850 system uses 43 W more in idle than the GTX 260 system. Bit-Tech : The 4850 and the GTX 260 system uses the same amount of power in idle. WHY? Edit: Because Bit-Tech uses di...

Is it really relevant when Jesus was born? X-mas is about celebrating his birth, not his birthday, after all:) Actually celebrating 'birthday' was seen as heathen for the first few hundred years of christianity:) Second, christianity has always incorporated any 'local' customs as it spread through e...

Re: Which brands step down voltage?
I know most are more powerful than I need, but I feel burned by the 3450's performance on full-screen things like Flash or AVC HD stuff, and don't want to risk the 4350/4550 route again, especially when the price difference is minimal, and the power draw might be even higher at idle on those cards ...

(I need 16 fans) My biggest question is how you could need 16 fans? I'd wager a coin that your best option to make your box more silent is to rethink your airflow management. And it wouldn't surprise me if it is possible to reduce the number of fans and decrease the speed of the fans yet still have...

Although only reviewing the boards of one manufacture might bring some sort of consistency, I get concerned that spcr might seem to be in bed with Asus. Almost all of the recent mobo-reviews has been on ASUS boards and 2 of the last 3 gfx cards reviewed were Asus (the third a reference card). I do u...

Specified airflow is usually given for zero pressure. Airflow and pressure relationship is unfortunate...

Well... It depends on how and why you use the intake fans. As Great Gig already said, one have to take note of the dynamics involved. First let me ask a question. Which set up will move most air through the case? (in the hypothetical situation that no air enters/exits the case other than through the...

35w shouldn't be that hard with an AMD system (we are talking idle, anyways), with a good PSU and a 2.5" HD. Just check the mobo-test articles on this site. So it is also easy with DG45FC? The way I understood it the mobo chipset makes sub-50w hard, but maybe I've not found all the references? Any l...

The biggest problem with the 120W brick is that there is a fan in it which defeats some of purpose of getting a pico-psu. As for efficiency: As the PSU is external, the importance of efficiency declines a bit, as that heat will not be let loose in the case anyways (as most of the powerloss occurs in...

Just 2 thoughts I had when reading your post. In Mikes second test of the 780G chipset he tests M3A78 PRO from ASUS, which proves to draw alot less power than the the Gigabyte board. My plans also includes a fanless external PSU, so every watt saved on parts in the rig will also leave it's mark in the PSU. I have thought of using a mobo with IGP, but I can't help thinking that a chipset without the gfx part would be even leaner. Has anyone tested AMD 770 chipset for power?
I know that most people here go with the integrated graphics on these boards, but as I want to retain the ability of playing a game or two on the box I am building, I'm planing to go with a 4670. So my question is, has anyone tested powerdraw of the motherboards without integrated graphics?
