Where are the photos?
Any review needs lots of photos. You have stock shots of individual components and no photos of the assembled system.
Did anybody bother to take them? Not much help without photos.

I don't think comparing _todays_ test results for the Triton to _whenever_ days test results for the other coolers is really trustworthy. I think you should only compare heatsinks that are tested at the same time (eg same day), otherwise there are too many variables in the test equipment, test setup...

I am running a Quad6600 G0 @ 3 GHz and the temps at idle/low loads are in the 50-55 C range (ambient 25 C). At full load the temps push the high 60's. This is in a full tower case, with a Thermalright Ultra120 and a Corsair 450 psu. If you want to run the Quad at 3 GHz and be stable i would recommen...

I replaced the stock north bridge hs with this zalman nbf47 and use a quiet 80mm Panaflo to move air across it.

Check out 'Dan'sData' for a review of a case with this fan: http://www.dansdata.com/bigfans.htm He talks about the real "size" of the fan and how effectively it cools: And, of course, the actually-22cm fans really do work. Along with a minimal contribution from the front-mounted PSU, the big fans wi...

I have the blue Reserator 1 and it does not come with the 775 adaptor, but the black Reserator 1 Plus does. If you can keep your hard drives at the bottom of a standard case instead of the top they will be about 5C cooler. Also in my experience an 80mm fan at 5 volts blowing on 3 drives in one hard ...

One of the advantages of water cooling is that most of the cpu heat is removed from the case. With a psu fan drawing some air thru the case you may be able to eliminate your case fans, but your hard drives should have some air circulating over them. A small fan at 5 volts blowing over the hard drive...

With proper cooling, a decent psu and good memory you won't have any instability issues at stock speeds. If you o/c and stress the cpu at 100% load the chances increase for instability. But with dual core you will need threaded applications which utilize both cores simultaneously to approach 100% lo...

Since your primary concern is silence, the best solution is an external box for your SCSI drives connected by an external SCSI cable. For more user experiences with the 939 Opteron see the "Unofficial Opteron 939 Thread" These chips seem to be better o/c but also run hotter due to 1mb X 2 caches. http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26642&page=1&pp=15&highlight=opteron http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php...

Yes that is normal for the Zalman silicon tubing. You have to get a less permeable tubing than silicone or change coolant type. I use HydrX cooling additive from Swiftech and the odor is barely noticable within a few inches. Check the hardness (Shore rating) of the tubing and compare it to silicone ...

Those are pretty good temps. I took the heat spreader off my cpu so the heatsink makes direct contact with the core. This seems to give another 2-4 C lower temps. I had a xp-90 before the Typhoon.
