Re: There's no racist like a liberal racist
Race is a social construct. And any group of people that you can choose to join or to leave - cannot be considered a race. The fellow Jason Richwine who wrote in his "PhD" paper that Jews are more intelligent is essentially saying that if we convert to Judaism, we would all increase our IQ. A relig...

Re: There's no racist like a liberal racist
Islam isn't "barbaric". The conflicts with Islam are caused in part by mass immigration and in part by Israeli-Muslim conflicts, in which there simply is not a "good" side. Islam has a rich history. If robbed of their heritage, what would guide and direct Muslims? I'm for leaving them alone, strivin...

I use startpage.com, and I've been wanting to go with an Icelandic webhost.
I'd be interested in Japan or another country, but I was told Iceland is the safest bet.

Re: I have just discovered how horrible Fox News really is
It's very significant because Obama appears and identifies as being black. How can you not get this? The same way some people don't get the following: Global warming is occurring. Wealth redistribution under Bush occurred. President Obama has a Hawaiian birth certificate. They don't want to get it....

Re: I have just discovered how horrible Fox News really is
Race is definitely part of the opposition to Obama. People don't look at percentages. Black genes are more dominant, and Obama looks black. Whites will present another reason for opposing him, but race is often part of it. Similarly... blacks support Obama because he's... black. Are we supposed to ...

Re: I have just discovered how horrible Fox News really is
And a Black President, that is symbolic. That is the reason for much of the irrational hate.... and the UFO type of conspiracy arguments. I respectfully disagree. Very few people care what Obama's ethnic background is (50% African and 50% European). I don't see hatred against Obama based on his rac...

Re: South Korea: The Next ‘Free Trade’ Battleground
I do admittedly put the US first in my concerns. However, I don't wish for domination or anything like that. With 7 billion people in the world, I'm wary of seeking to equally distribute natural resources, tech, and capital via free trade. I fear we'll be equally impoverished. However, I don't think...

Re: South Korea: The Next ‘Free Trade’ Battleground
I don't like how capitalism destroys the middle class. It wasn't captilism that destroyed the middle class, it was technology that has made manual labor less valuable than it used to be (and only economic if performed offshore). Or call it "Revenge of the Nerds." There's truth to this in the long t...

Re: South Korea: The Next ‘Free Trade’ Battleground
HFat, A party called "Labour" tends to support free trade? Interesting. In the US it's the reverse: the GOP tends to be more for free trade, Dem for tariffs. Obama actually campaigned against free trade, though he switched once in office. (Did you know Bush campaigned as a peace candidate in 2000? R...

South Korea: The Next ‘Free Trade’ Battleground
The Off Topic has generally been left-wing leaning. Here's a topic (I hope) most of us can all agree on: Reject Free Trade Agreements! At the least, I won't be such a minority in this as I would other political topics. South Korea: The Next ‘Free Trade’ Battleground GEMMA: Times are tough; isn’t thi...

The intake vents look nice and open (good thing) to me. However, it looks like the exhaust fan could take some resistance if pushing air out into that channel in the top. That system is designed for positive pressure, but is dust that much of an issue? I imagine 3 180mm fans would produce a little m...

What about the closer impending disaster? Sarah Palin as president? Now we know what it takes to make the Mayan calendar look good. I just noticed this over at A-Tech: 2.5" drive mounting kit
It lacks the stability of resting in the mobo though (via that plastic piece on the one you linked to).
Z-Drive from OCZ might grow in popularity too.

Wow 35W each pipe? So 4 pipes might could run any CPU... Best case on the market, imo. The level of custom fabrication is unmatched. A-Tech HeatSync 7000
A-Tech HeatSync 7000 I'll never buy one (due to cost), but this deserves its own thread. Case relies on one fan: the PSU (though a cooler system could of course get away with a passive PSU). Case can be designed to fit an i7 CPU and dual GPUs. - Possible drawbacks: Upgradeability. Limit ~70W on eac...

SuperTalent makes a 200x drive in both 4gb and 8gb. Tests show this is a hotrod thumb drive for both Read and Write. Other than it over heating, it looks like a thumb is just the ticket for zero disk noise on a DNS machine or other type with relatively low disk access. That sounds much faster than ...
