Golly kinda dead here. I'm tickled pink to be part of the 400k club, tho!
Been hanging out at audiokarma.org. Stop by for a visit.

Just adding my experience. Never had that problem with a Tinker; they just get dumped (rarely) and pickup a new one. :? Two of my my AMD folders cause 99% of the problems and almost always it's a corrupted wu. They will dump them and start another over and over 'til I get it fixed. Too much oc, over...

I've had pretty good experience with P95 for testing oc'd folders, although it's no guarantee as you point out. Yesterday, one of my open air amd folders was ditching wu's when they were 1/2 done :( - a few days after I changed the psu. So, back to the old psu (full of dust) and seems to be ok. This...

Well, we had such a good experience with the folks at Team FM, so perhaps everyone's a little "gun shy." I say "we," although I was too chicken to join in the festivities over there. :) To be honest, I haven't paid a lot of attention to the Speedguide "race" as it was obvious that we were gonna crus...

It's funny how there's usually eleventeen different ways of doing things. :) I like the idea of a batch file as you could just copy the file from machine to machine and not have to mess around as much getting things set up. I stopped doing the -configonly thing as it's really not necessary and you h...

Can do. You're really not only using 50%, that's just the way Tsk Mgr or whatever you're looking at displays the 2 "threads." If you were to turn ht off in the bios, you'd see then that you're using 100% of the cpu, but your frame times are the same. :) The 2nd instatnce must be the console version....

Ok, how to set machine id to #2 - there's a couple of different ways to do this, but this is the way that I do it. Click the fah4console.exe file to get it started, enter your user id and team #. Just accept all the setup defaults. When you get to "Change advanced settings," enter "y" and then set y...

Ed, The second client must be the console version. You can run 2 or more console clients, but only one graphical client. I'm going to check and see where the machine id setup is. Back in a sec. BTW, on an intel folder, copy and paste "fah4console.exe" from the dir that you set up to your desktop. Th...

ps, what happened to the 40 watt difference you initailly reported? I was measuring the amps drawn on a board powered by a Shuttle XPC 200W (Achme) psu with active pfc. I was getting some really low amp numbers. Turns out that using the Kill A Watt, it's about + 10% of the SS-300FB watts numbers. S...

Actually, I should have given MikeC credt for my first understanding of PFC as he mentions it in one or more of his power supply reviews. I couldn't find it this a.m., but, will try and link to it. Got my Kill A Watt at J&R for $35 delivered. Not a plug for them, as I rarely buy anything there. Was ...

Yes this is true. Over the life of an overclocked cpu, electromigration occurs, with electros migrating away from the cpu. Then, space becomes available for electro immigration and the empty spaces fill up, usually rather quickly. These new electros seem to perform the more rudimentary cpu tasks. Pr...

Hmm. Good question. Only from my experience, fah attempts to make a 'net connection to transmit/receive wu's when: You invoke the "-send all" command. It finishes a wu. Every 6 hours (I think it's 6) while crunching a wu. Also, I think that the maximum number of wu's in the queue is 10. Perhaps this...
