Seasonic SS-430HB/S

Hi All, want to know if anyone knows anything about this PSU? doodddoo posted the following in the Seasonic S12-430: Beyond the Super Tornado thread, thats about all I've found on it in this site (and the entire net for that matter) I was just wondering if you guys could shed some light on this. I'm...

Have you thought about getting a PCI video card and running both? That is what I did in my old P3, but that was two years ago, it was a GF2 mx that was passively cooled.

I notice that your p4C is running at 3.3GHz. At this speed under load this is drawing anywhere up to 80 to 100W DC. The zalman is what 70-75% efficent, means that anywhere up to 35 watts or so is being generated in the psu just to power the processor. Its all a matter of adequate cooling. If you thi...

I fried my motherboard last weekend :( I was measuring voltages of my new fan controller with my multimeter and shorted something. My computer turned off straight away and wouldn't turn back on. I hope I didn't damage anything more than just my mobo - the PSU smelt a bit strange after too (its an an...

What would happen to the LEDs if they were to be fed off 12V ?? Reason is i've connected them to my new fan controller's three way 12V / OFF / 5V switch - but i don't want some little brother coming in and playing with the controller and hitting the LEDs onto 12V and doing anything bad!

look in the recommended fans section. you'd be best to realise that no fan is 'quiet' at 12v and you have to trade off speed for silence and undervolt the fan to 7v or 5v etc

By the way, rpm monitoring does not mean you have any ability to change the speed of the fan - it is just to read the current speed of the fan.

I've been doing it for a few months now 24/7, I don't think it is dangerous, i'm pretty sure i remember reading somewhere (here?) that it was fine. I think its just as good as using elastic (which i do in my old system) and less fiddling around when you want to change drives. You need to have a fan ...

A P4 becomes very efficient when slightly underclocked and then undervolted as low as it can and still be stable. May or may not be as good as the AMD mobiles, but still very good. Even the Prescott can be tamed in this way, though not as good as a northwood. I have my p4 2.6C underclocked slightly...

I have a P3800EB too - on an Aopen AX64 Pro motherboard. I have it completely stable, undervolted to 1.4Vcore and the stock intel HSF with the tiny 40mm fan running at 5v is enough to keep it cool - idle CPU temp is about 35 here in summer. I have a PIII 800EB that is undervolted from 1.65 to 1.4V and is perfectly stable for 9 months, 35C idle and 48C load. I'm using the stock intel HSF but at 5V and it is very quiet. Underclocked and 5V this equates to a 10C drop in temperature compared to stock vcore and 5V. Undervolting is fantastic.

If the case includes the 'smart' fan 2s, don't be fooled. They are the loudest fans ever, with loud clicking noises even at low voltages. For cooling they are fantastic ~70 cfm! - but not for low noise.
