The initial feedback I have had is that the site is a little too clean! I might try add a splash of colour soon. I've also been reading some web marketing forums. As a techie I've always been quite keen on the very clean pre-loaders and ajax loads (where there is no page refresh but lots of voids() ...

Seal, could you provide more details of your mac mini mods, especially with regards to the cooling system? sure, er the only major mod was the overclocking, which requires re-soldering of the mini's motherboard PCB, its quite tricky stuff and not for the faint hearted, as i already said, it invalid...

Better say this before the thread's locked. IMO apple appears to be very much against DIY'ers; it's one thing for them to not want to write a lot of drivers and so not let people buy most of their components themselves, but I see no reason why they couldn't allow the option of buying "mac kits", wi...

A mac mini may make a great file server, the only problem maybe if you want to run linux on it with airport as airport extreme is unsupported under linux. However, it's small quiet and, according to this, draws only 20 watts and only 28 whilst playing a dvd!!! http://www.tomshardware.com/howto/2005...

heres my experience with the as cooler. ive had nothing but problems from it. When i bought it i modified the fan to run off 7v, few weeks after, the fan started vibrating heavily so i took the fan apart and put some more grease in there. That went well for a while, then i noticed alot of graphical ...

Is it easy to remap say the "media" key to be "volume up" and another one of those "hotkeys" to volume down? Out of all the "junk hotkeys" on my cheap microsoft keyboard, I only use mute, volume up and volume down. If the Logitech is easy to rewire/reprogram the hotkeys, then thatd be cool... yeah ...

Here you go. This was the fate of my ultrax once i spilt tea on it... (i thought that only happened in films). It survived perfectly although the keys got sticky so i took it apart to clean the keys. http://jkwlee.com/comp/ultrax_take_apart.jpg The mechanism is just standard laptop key style. To tak...

I just wish they have the "Power" key on it... Most BIOSes have the option to startup the system via keyboard "hot-keys" I have my UltraX set to start my system by pressing "Ctrl + F1". Works great and I don't need no silly "power" button! :) amen brother, thats what i do. cause my box is relocated...

Swiftechs are for people who want an all in one package/are less experienced, i hardly see hardcore setups like uve just listed with swiftech cpu blocks. Also i use a t line and i have no trouble wih mine, i can fill it up from dry wit...
