I am not thinking about a fanless ati all-in-wonder card that is also pci-e

(I am after a graphics / tv card that is quiet)

Passively cooled PCI-E card?

Does anyone know of any fanless PCI-E cards?

I don't need 3D performance at all, but it does need to be PCI-E - and I would prefer not to have to get a 3rd party add-on heat sink if possible.

I've been looking and not had much luck so far...

Hey guys - thought I'd post an update on my experiences. To recap I'm running a Winchester 3200 in a Shuttle with a passively cooled (very hot) graphics card. I found a tool on the AMD site to show you exactly what you processor is doing. Basically, the voltage varies between 1.1V and 1.4V depending...

Yeah hold off if you can, although I doubt I could ;)

But if it's mainly a gaming machine, you need to decide on the video card first of all. And second of all, how noisey a video card you can handle.

Back to topic - I have a Winchester 3200 and it really does run cool! Even compared with my Mobile Barton 2500. Dish the dirt; what temps, what voltage? Crow[/quote] Funny that, I'm trying to work it out. It seems that I don't have cool'n'quiet enabled although my motherboard supports it and I have...

OK mine is together now :D:D:D with stock parts I have to say that it is quiet imho - once you change the bios fan settings to ultra low. It's not silent but it is quiet. I will no doubt start modding it once I have some time/money but for the moment it is fine. I definitely could sleep with this in...

EBuyer are cheap but unreliable and their customer service is awful. Last time I ordered something from them, it didn't turn up and they refused to chase it up for 15days. I was not happy.

I have a Samsung Spinpoint as well which is just fantastic compared to the WD's.

Unfortunately I can't afford to replace them right now, I've spent too much money recently :(

Best way to silence WD whine?

I have a couple of Western Digital drives in my system and they whine like a monster mosquito these days!

What's the most effective way of silencing the whine (don't care about seek noise)?

Would something like a silentmaxx HDD enclosure be of any use for this high pitched constant whine ?

except that none of those carry a 92mm nexus...

I can get:
SilenX 92mm 9 dBA Fan
SilenX 92mm 11 dBA Fan
SilenX 92mm 14 dBA Fan
AcoustiFan 92mm
ZM-F2, Ultra-Quiet 92mm Case Fan

Is there anyway to attach a 120mm fan onto the back of the shuttle, outside the case?

Silicon washers or gasket?

Which is better for fan vibrational silencing?

AcoustiFan: Anti-vibration 92mm Fan Gasket
or
AcoustiFan: Anti-Vibration Gel Fan Mounts

(I don't think the EAR grommets are available in the UK)

Seeing as I will be using a decent fan, do I even need these?
(Will be going into a Shuttle, 92mm fan)

I have a 92 L1A already and it's very quiet at low voltage with no clicking - guess I got lucky with that one :)

AOpen SFF models

Hi - I am confused  There seem to be a lot of reviews of Aopen SFF's saying that they are noisey while SPCR says they are quiet. I of course put SPCR's opinon above other sites when it comes to noise. Actually Tom's Hardware has 2 reviews of teh AOpen AV model - one says it's quiet, another s...

what heat sink/fan combo are you using? what case cooling do you have?
