My only concern with replacing the fan in the SL350S would be the amount of heat it produces. Even when the computer is idle and the air coming out of the 120mm exhaust fan is cool, the air coming out of the PSU is warm. Under load, the exhaust of the PSU becomes quite hot. Others have been successf...

From what I remember reading back around December/January, revision A1 Super Silencers were great, it was only the A1 Super Tornados that had problems.

Just looking at what's been posted, it looks like it could be the 9800 series cards...or maybe just the second 12V rail dedicated to the card? Have you guys tried running your video cards off the same 12V rail as everything else? (Or am I way off base and/or confused about the purpose of the separat...

Thanks Pauli. It's reassuring to see your system running perfectly fine on a 300W PSU as it is very similar to mine. That pretty much leaves it down to the ST and the Enermax. To complicate matters, my Evercool Aluminum fan has just recently begun making an annoying clicking sound from time to time,...

Help me select a power supply

So I've done some more reading, and would like to finally get a new power supply. I put it off 6 months ago because I wanted to wait for very efficient non-Seasonic PSUs to hit the market, and my PC's noise is hardly an issue when I have a box fan running in my room to keep cool :) However, as winte...

I think the following schema will work. It uses a single IC chip with at least 3 XOR in it. For instance the chip 74HC136 (~$0.50) should do fine. |------------------- V+ -------- |--- )XOR----- )XOR---- FAN_Tach*2 FAN_Tach -- )XOR------ |---------- The first XOR just gives you the inverted signal....

I doubt it. I can't speak about the thermal paste that comes with the Zalman specifically since it's only been a month and a half since I put it together. However, I know that when I recently took my old HSF off my Athlon to replace it after 2.5 years (the fan was dying) the thermal paste was still ...

The supplied thermal paste seems to work quite well on mine cooling a P4 3.0Ghz. The temps are very low even with the Zalman at 5V and the exhaust fan at 5V.

Was thinking of getting either a Zalman 400B or a Nexus NX3500 Ultra Quiet PSU..not sure which is best for quietness tho :? Compared to standard two-fan...

I'd be interested to know as I'm thinking of grabbing the same power supply and hopefully sticking a Panaflo in it. If not though, the 25mm Aluminum Evercool should fit and I'm happy with that as an exhaust fan.

Which PSU to mod?

Well, I was all set on buying a Seasonic SuperSilencer 400W when I read all the bad experiences with the revision A2 models. If I'm going to blow $99 on a PSU, I want it to work perfectly :/ I assume the 350W and 300W super silencers are affected the same way? I really like the efficiency of the sea...

Trying to decide which power supply to get

I'm very happy with my new system and how it sounds, but, well, I'd like to see if I could silence it a bit more :) Here is a link to what my system is currently . The power supply (Antec SL350S) is definitely the loudest component in the system, so I'd like to replace it. I've seen that chylld was ...

My quiet (but not quite silent) rig

I recently completed my new computer and I am happy to report that it is very quiet. It isn't silent, but it's close and much, much quieter than my last computer. It's roughly based on Ralf Hutter's system as you'll see. First, some specs: Antec SLK-3700BQE Asus P4C800-E Deluxe Pentium 4 3.0Ghz w/ H...

Ended up just taking a trip to Home Depot and picking up some nuts, bolts, and rubber washers. Used those to mount the fans and they are very secure. For the time being I have all of my fans at 12V just to see how it performs temperature wise. Tomorrow I'll turn down the fans and see how it holds up...

How do you go about mounting other fans on to the BQE? I have the BQE here with a 120mm aluminum Evercool fan and a 92mm Panaflo L1A for the front. However, there are no screw holes for mounting a 92mm fan in the front and the holes in the back are too large for the screws that came with the BQE. Ad...

No. The compatibility page on Arctic Cooling's site states that it will not work on AIW or XT series cards.

GamingGod, what brand is your 9800XT? Have you guys seen the Asus card, the one with two fans? Man, that one makes noise. I was planning on the Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer when I was looking at the 9800 Pro but since it doesn't fit, that's kind of out. If you had problems keeping a 9800 Pro cool with the Zalman solution with a fan then I don't imagine it'll be a good solution for the 9800XT. Looks like I'll have to dea...

Cooling a Radeon 9800XT

What's the best quiet way to cool a Radeon 9800XT? The ZM-80HPC with the ZM-OP1 fan? I'm going to see how loud the stock fan is before I try anything, but I have a feeling it will be loud enough to try something quieter.
