Modified Zalman 7000 Mod

I bought a 915GMm MB to use in my new HTPC. I didn't like the stock HSF and read that the Zalman 7000 fit, so I got one of those also. One problem, the 7000 (7000A in my case) interferes with the PCI-E x16 slot. I am using a Sapphire x800 with Arctic Cooling ATI5 Rev 2 cooler. I trimmed about 10 fin...

Broke into Top 300 Folders

Today I am very happy that I broke into the Top 300 folders. I was thinking about my folding and decided to catalog my current boxes, and reminisce. I started Folding for SPCR at the end on Feb. 2004, so about 18 months ago. That was before the great point increase, but not much more. The rise up th...

My only suggestion would be to use a seperate video card. I have a M10000 and I have found the on-board video quality poor and the drivers worse. I just added a Radeon 7000 PCI to mine, and for the ~$40US, it was well worth it. The video quality is improved, and there is still improvements being mad...

I found a trick that allows adding command line switches without editing the registry.

Create a shortcut to the console executible, and add your switches to the Target box. Then install the Console from the shortcut. The switches will carry into service creation.

Also, the EPOX EP-8RGM3I has full OC capabilities. I have one running in my HTPC with an XP-M @ 2400MHZ.

100K Analysis

Some interesting notes on my run to 100K. It took 146 days from the start of the first WU for SPCR. Average of ~685 points per week. Thinking back, I got to ~30th place in less than 90 days, but has now taken 70+ days to get to 17th. I check my stats often, but the overtaking fun is definately gone....

I have my DP-102 on a EPoX EP-8RGM3I mATX MB. This setup allows me to use 80mm Panaflos on both sides of the DP-102. System Epox 8RGMI with XP-M 2400+ AeroCool DP-102 Coolmax Taurus 300W PSU on low fan setting 3 80mm Panaflos @ ~6V (2 on DP-102 and 1 on back panel with 60mm-80mm adapter Sapphire 960...

Using Aerocool DP-102 in same Case

I have the same case for my HTPC. I use an AeroCool DP-102 and 2 Panaflo L1A @ ~6.5V to cool a 2400+ XP-M @2.3GHz. The best part about the the DP-102 is the fact that you change the fan orientation to blow the exhaust out the back.

EMachines?

I have been folding with my EMachines M5310 continuously since December. It is not quiet when running full speed, but runs without a hitch. There are several reports of overheating issues at the unofficial forum (http://dexplor.com/phpBB2/index.php?sid=166cbafc0585897b350e3670e67daf6c), but mine has...

I don't claim any recruiting to join SPCR, just what felt right. The 100x13 reference is FSBxMultiplier when I watch movies, etc. This way, I undervolt to ~1.0V and run with just the HSF and PSU fans. The new blades will be dedicated folders for the time being. As I build new PCs for friends and fam...

No SATA connectors

I got my 3700BQE last week, and there are no SATA power connectors.

I was also dissapointed to find none of the fan only power connectors, a la the Sonata.

Movin' On Over

I am moving my folding efforts to SPCR! I was with that team at #1, but I spend so much more time here, that it only felt right to switch. Right now I am scoring ~1200 points a week, and I have 2 more XP2500's coming in the next week or so. As many have said, it becomes addicting, especially when yo...

The Overature is not an option because I want to have hidden 5.25" drive bays. I have 2 old but silent DVD-ROMs that i do not want to part with, but also do not want to look at.

The bridge modding idea has merit for me. I really don't want to go that far, but may be a possibility.

Punch holes in my Mobile Athlon Logic

I really want to use a Mobile Athlon XP in my HTPC. I love the idea of starting at a Vcore of 1.4 instead of 1.625, and the cost difference is not that large. From everything I have read, I need to be able to set the Vcore, FSB,and multiplier in the BIOS for this to work. Another issue, I need a mAT...
