Thanks, I'll check those out as well.

Corsair 760T/ Fractal Define XL R2 / Deep Silence 5
Hi; I was looking into finding a quiet case for an E-ATX motherboard. I came across a review of quiet cases at https://us.hardware.info/reviews/5704/silence-is-golden-24-silent-cases-reviewed. I was looking at the Define XL R2, and the Deep silence 5. (The article covered the deep silence 1 (not 5) ...

Re: How much more life in my Seasonic 430W PSU?
For what it's worth, my 600W Seasonic S12 (SS-600HT) just gave up the ghost in one of my systems. It was run at least 8 hours a day since I got it. It self-destructed when a toroid coil near all the output wires overheated and turned black. The PS itself appears to have started slowly venting 'yello...

thank you for your info, oh and btw, nice rig :) Just want to clarify some things though, what settings is ur fan at when conducting these tests. reading some new egg reviews, someone said that at 40-45% will make the fan go around 2000 rpm which is right before it gets "loud". Since during your to...

Re: non reference saphire 4870
... I'm planning on making a new setup during boxing day sales and am planning on getting a 4870 (most likely 1gb version). Most of the stuff I'm buying has emphasis on being as silent as possible, without tons of modding and tons of cash. I was originally going to put a Accelero S1 rev2 on a refer...

Water cooled Radeon X1900XTX
I just saw that Sapphire is coming out with an all-internal water cooled Radeon X1900 XTX (see http://www.sapphiretech.com/en/products ... p?gpid=143 ).

I think this also varies with how good your case airflow is, and what your ambient temps are as well. I have a Sapphire X800 GTO2 that I modded to 16 pipes, upped the frequency to 490 core/560 memory, and replaced the heatsink with a Zalman VF-700Cu. I have tested this, both with my case side panel...

J Even so, you will still need to run the VF700CU at high for a high-end graphics card. I have an X800GTO^2 flashed to 16 pipes and OC'ed to XTPE speeds, and without the Zalman on high the card overheats. ... Re: Sapphire X800XL Ultimate or other card with Zalman VF700
Considering price and noise, would a Sapphire X800XL Ultimate ( http://www.sapphiretech.com/en/products/graphics_overview.php?gpid=25 ) be a better or worse alternative than smacking a Zalman cooler on any similar card? I assume it's a Zalman they are using, but there might be issues of software or...

Re: VF700-Cu with a Sapphire X800 GT0?
... In my current (cooler) system, I can run full load 3D games with the fan speed running at 54% and get about a 65 Degree C video core temp. (Ambient room temp. about 66 degrees F). ... . I just checked my notes, and make that 59 Degrees C (Video GPU Temp) at 53% Fan setting (as specified in ATIT...

Re: VF700-Cu with a Sapphire X800 GT0?
Hello, I have a Zalman for my CPU and it is nice and quiet - that is why I'm curious about the VF700-Cu for my video card. Anyone try the VF700-Cu? Is it reasonably quiet compared to the stock ati fans? I have the Sapphire X800 GTO2 PCIe version, and changed the fan to use the VF700-Cu (so I don't ...

X2's run a little hotter. maybe 5-10*c or so. Overclocked they can get ALOT hotter then stock, though as the increase in heat output over stock is double compared to a similarly clocked/voltage single core CPU I've got an AMD X2 4400+ running at stock speeds in a mini-tower case with an XP-90 and a...

I did not realize how loud my fan was on my x800xl until i changed my CPU fan to a zalman. That thing is FREAKING LOUD! I put a Zalman Z80C-HP on my Radeon 9700 Pro a while back, along with the Zalman OP1 fan and this works well (and 'quietly') in my system. (Oh sure, it's hugh, but seems to work well). The "improved" heat transfer of the duel heatpipe ZM80D should work even better. | Forgot to mention I didn't/don't...

Re: Is it normal when a samsung 1614c vibrates?
I have it for 3 weeks and it was nice and quiet, but since yesterday there is a light resonating / vibrating noice. If i put my hand to the drive i feel it vibrating. The noice i high not hard but i feel high pressure to my ears. I want to push the computer further and further away. Is that vibrati...

I've recently bought a 160GB P80 (SP1614N) and it doesn't have the whine, so maybe yours is defective. Even with the case open in front of me, I can only hear the disk when it's seeking (and that's only because it's in a lightweight aluminium case, and I have taken any steps to dampen vibration yet...

Is the noise level of the spinpoint drive that much lower than the new drives from hitachi? Storagereview has the hitachi drive listed at only .3 decibels higher, but I'm guessing the seak noise is significantly louder. Does anyone here actually have one of the new hitachi drives? Could they commen...
