Re: CPU cooler for BitFenix Pandora Core? (maybe liquid AIO)

Just a quick update... I did end up with the NH-C14S in the Pandora case. I have the standard fan in the "default" position for a single fan - blowing up through the heatsink. Also in the case is a GTX980. Unfortunately, the heatsink does not fit in the case if arranged in one of the two standard w...

Well even though these video cards aren't the quietest thing on the market, there's still a lot of silent enthusiasts that still play games and like to have a very powerful system. And there's always some way to make them less noisy. I appreciate that fact. However, should we also discuss NFL and c...

Never heard a 800x running, but I guess it's pretty loud. So now they can be linked together, wouldn't that make the system extra loud?

Hi capleton Are you only going to use this new pc for server and music? If that's the only thing you're going to use it for, I think that a s939 motherboard and and amd64 3000+ is a bit too much. Althought these two are very good in terms of power/cost ratio. 1 gig of ram is a bit too much also. But...

I've read quite a few of 939 round ups. For nforce3 boards, the best of the group should be MSI Neo2 nforce3 from what i've read. There's a good round up of all the board (+supports and problems) at XtremeSystems forums http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=46730 I think that you migh...

Re: No dice at MicroCenter ... and how loud is "loud&am

On a slightly different topic, can someone contrast the noise level of the "loud" 1604 or 1614 drives with the noise produced by the latest Hitachi and/or WD drives in the same 160GB range? I'm trying to determine whether the JVC motors are just loud in comparison to what people expect from the Sam...

Maybe you can try cutting a venting hole at the bottom of the case? I've seen people do this on this forum.

And btw, where did you buy your GMC case? I can't find any retail shop that sells it in North America.

It is a amd Thunderbird 950Mhz. The only exhaust in this case is the PSU. So that explains why you can see clunks of dust on the exterior of the grill.

precautions i must take before selling old hard drive?

I've been thinking of selling my 120WD for a samsung sp1614n. Are there any precautions I must take before selling my 120WD. I don't mean backing up my data, but rather getting rid of any trace of it on the drive. I certainly don't want anybody else having access to my data. Is a format enough for k...

It looks like you're getting a pretty nice set up. But I think you should get rid of the WD drive. Since your other components are quiet enough, the sound of the WD will stick out even more. Trust me, I have a WD and the high pitch sound is intolerable!

Hi Gunzee If you cannot hear the difference between a 12v and undervolted zalman 7000, it's probably because something else is generating more noise. And I think the culprit is the vantec stealth.
