Hi Steve, you may find that by going to 'control panel - power options' and then on the left hand side ' Choose what the power buttons do ' and switching off ' Turn on fast startup ' helps. Hi ~El~Jefe~, try going to: start/Settings/Update & security/advanced options - At the top should be a choice of 'Automatic(recommended)' or 'Notify to schedule restart'

Or alternatively, in start/Settings/Update & security/ there may be a 'Change active hours'.

Have been using WIN10 in a virtual machine on an old laptop since December/January (VMWare) and as the primary OS on my main work laptop since early March with no real issues. Only 'potential' problem is some of the Realtek audio drivers, but they can cause problems in WIN7 sometimes, so not Microso...
