I just purchased and installed a Enermax Liberty EL500AWT. you might of got a lemon when you tested it. mine is almost silent. the fan runs at between 870 to 1150 rpm. all i can hear is wind noise but it blends in with my 2 120mm fans running at 7vts. this psu is just as quiet as my 475w enermax noi...

i got one of the Nexus fans. It is real quiet but doesnt push much air. i am using the MCW50 on my vid card. i have been able to oc my card to 410mhz without any artifacts. the gpu block rules.

i am also using the MCW6000-A and have not had any problems with it.

my EG475P-VE-SFMA has never ramped up above 1100rpm under heavy load. this supply is church mouse quiet and stable as rock. i am now messing with water cooling so i am hoping for near silence after i get this stuff figured out.

i have recently bought this supply. The atx cable is really stiff but all you have to do is take either a hairdryer or a heat gun and warm it up alittle. after that it will bend any way you want it to and when it stiffens again it will never move on you.

on the fan ramping up i have not seen mine go above 1200rpm with a cpu temp of 54c and a case temp of 35c. that is under heavy load.

with the fan still running after you shut down i can not even hear it running. it runs at very low rpm, just enought to move a little air.

using fan mate my powersupply rpm hovers around 800rpm at idle and up to 1000 rpm under heavy load. she is dead silent at these rpms. i can not hear the powersupply over my panaflo L1a fans. the secret of the stiff atx cable is to heat it with a hairdryer or heatgun and then bend it the way you need...
