Cutting wires and such are not exactly my forte. I was hoping for a simple converter. Is there a diagram of which wires need to go where?

9800xt + artic cooling 3 question

Just got my new artic cooling 3 for my 9800xt, installed it with no problems, but it seems to have that clicking problem people have been talking about. Assuming it is related to the fan controller on the 9800xt itself, has anyone found a 3-pin (video card size) to 3-pin (motherboard size) converter...

Did you try plugging the artic cooling fan into a normal fan plug instead of into the video card?

I had a sapphre 9600xt with that noisy fan, put a zalman on it, no problems. The 9600xt's run extremely cool due to being on the .13 process. My zalman didn't even get warm.

The 9600xt is on the .13 process, not the .15. It runs VERY cool, the heatsink that came with mine was TINY! I upgraded to a zalman and the thing does not even get warm. It also consumes less power, it does not use a power connector like the PRO cards.

Still waiting to complete my order. Ralf and shunx, I never said "HEY! This is the greatest power supply EVER!" I just pointed out that SOMEONE finally took a look at it. I've been trying to find ANY information about it, and overclockers was the first to even discuss this power supply. The specs so...

superflower 350ss 140mm fan review

Looks like overclockers.com wrote up a review of the superflower 350ss 140mm fan power supply, they seemed to like its quietness quite a bit..

Generally, from what ive read, its usuallya combo of the ps, hard drive, vid card, or motherboard. In my case it was the motherboard whining. But in other posts its the seagate hard drive. It can be really hard to narrow it down, but a new power supply almost always fixes it...or so i'm led to belie...

I had the same problem with my Sonata. I had a shuttle an35n motherboard with the atx 4plug connector, and i was sure it was the power supply making the whine, but it turned out it was the coils on the motherboard...i got a new board (without the atx 4pin plug) and now the whine is gone. Not sure if...
