Interesting... Well... I don't mean I'd NEVER play games. I'd probably play a little Counterstrike or something like that every once in a while. It'd be nice to have a little bit of muscle in that department. Adn as for PSUs.. How much more power consumption are the newer CPUs as compared to the Nor...

So you're suggesting I go lower-end Conroe? This is because I have upgradeability in the future with newer Conroes? Specifically, which one am I talking, here (current version, not the newer ones that I may upgrade to)? This would be better than the new price-slashed X2s? Integrated video? Ehhh I'm ...

Semi-Budget system?

Hi. I am looking to build a modestly cheap computer for college (I'm going to get a decently cheap laptop to bring to classes). The reason why it should be modestly cheap is because I don't really play video games anymore (on my computer). I just want it to be quite fast at a few things: Several app...

Looks like you got all of it down. I hope it's quiet :D

BS! 51 is fine, dont need to worry about that. Let's just say that at 51 degrees, nothing will fry, and nothing will be lost.

Why did you use the Stealths? I think if you even so much as sniff this forum , you'll sense the unworthiness of this fan in a quiet case.

By the way, you might want to cite where you're getting a lot of those pictures.

Hah, I'm dumb.

I plugged the fan in backwards, HOWEVER it turns out that the RED wire on the ADDA stock fan is NOT the same as the RED wire on the Panaflo!

So beware!

It's gotta be spinning too slow, then. I can run it solely off the mobo connector and solely off the 12V connector.

So... how do y'all control your Nexus's?

Problems with mobo reading Nexus fan speeds

It doesn't even register with the motherboard's builtin monitor "CoreCenter" from MSI.

Tried SpeedFan as well, not registering anything.

Is there something up with RPM monitoring with Nexus 120mm? The orange version...

Hmm, thanks for the info. I left it on for well over 15 minutes (about 5 hours), and played games and everything, and the PSU has not spun up. WHICH MEANS that I have probably plugged in the Fan incorrectly.

Damn.

About a modded Seasonic PSU...

I did a Mike type mod (actually, exactly the same), but the problem is the fan will not start, even after playing BF1942 for 15 minutes (which def stresses my CPU).

How can I tell if this is just the seasonic fan control or if I miswired my Panaflo L1A and how the heck do I tell??

I have. I wussied out and went to mnpctech and bought a duct. I then proceeded to learn how to use tin snips and busted a perfect hole thru the side door.

I haven't finished the project yet, but when I do i'll be sure to stick the results here somewhere.

Just wait till the Intel dual-core 64-bit CPU comes out. Teamed up with Microsoft's Longhorn, computing is going to be soo faaaaast.

Remember to use duct tape or masking tape to cover the outside edges. It will greatly reduce the amount of small knicks that could gather on the outside.

Sorry if that was incoherent.
