I have p638 tinkers on all of my computers, two PCs and two Macs. This is the first time I've gotten a Tinker on a mac, let alone two. So my stats stagnate as I'm in day 3 of this awful Tinker storm.
I'm about to be passed by 4 people, and my threats list went from empty to full.

All of my processors are going to:
http://folding.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/use ... e=Artcubed
You'll see there are 3 active processors, but no points
all of the points are here:

Bizzare, bizzare.

Ahhhh! There are people on my threats list! Time to boot up the iBook and find a network cable to hook up the iMac! I'd like to be in the top 100 sometime within the next two weeks. I still need 2,300 points, but I'll get there real soon. The G4 is on full time too...it's quieter now. Far from silen...

External Enclosure Nightmare
I bought one of those CompUSA combo Firewire/USB hard drive enclosure things for my Western Digital 250 GB drive (the G5 doesn't take PATA) but this thing is LOUD LOUD LOUD. It's whining really loud, and seek noise is more than easily audible. The fan in the unit also makes some noise...but not much...

ArtCubed is the accurate one (I think...), in place 151 at the moment, which will chance rapidly as I now have 3 computers/4 processors (got the Dual G5 running overtime now) to fold with.
And yes, it was fun passing myself again. I passed TheMuffinMan as Artcubed, and then passed as ArtCubed again.

Seagate 200 GB
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=22-148-032&catalog=14&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=0 Not even sure if it's a 'cuda or not...but anyone have experience with either a 160 or 200 GB Seagate drive? The IBM Deathstar in my G4 is screaming since I replaced the fans...it just became no...

-Advmethods doesn't really do anything IMO. I've been getting alternating Tinkers and Gromacs. Macs, on the other hand, don't get tinkers at all. I loaded F@H on my iBook to see if I would get a tinker or not. And it got a Gromac, as did my Dual G5. The G4 has been getting Gromacs the whole time. An...

Because of hyperthreading, Windows sees 2 logical processors rather than 1. This is supposed to speed up certain applications... You have to either disable Hyperthreading in the BIOS, or run 2 folding clients (with the proper settings so they don't overlap) Running two folding clients has an approxi...

There's two of me on EOC stats: Artcubed ArtCubed It may be that the database that EOC is using is case sensitive and Stanford's isn't. Some databases are case sensitive and some aren't when doing string comparisons, sortings, groupings, etc. Some can also be configured to be case sensitive/insensi...

There's two of me on EOC stats: Artcubed ArtCubed Stanford got it right, and there is only one of me there... http://folding.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/userpage?name=ArtCubed What are the odds of this working itself out? It can't be too bad...considering that my stats are practically doubled 8) But my sig...

A) Is there any airflow at all? If you don't have any fans in the system, it may be the northbridge...I would also check the memory (RAM). It also may be getting too hot B) VIA showed a video, where they ran a C3 with nothing at all on it (in terms of heatsink/fan), and it didn't crash after 24 hour...

No relation as far as I can tell...I've picked up a few Tinkers, but not too many. And I'm also having connection problems on everything but the Macs, so you're definately not alone. FWIW, I had the same problem with a few boxes yesterday -- problem was auto-magically taken care of and I'm not having problems any more. Dave Had the problem yesterday also...I just kept quitting and reopening the client, and after 5 minutes, it picked up a WU. It didn't send the one I had stored ...

I'd be at least green by now if it weren't for those damn tinkers...all of my PC's got em. At least I'm in the 70's (78%, 71% and 30% for the slacker machine that had to be shut down 4 times because of a faulty fan) And my Mac is only on 12/7 because I'm still waiting on 2 fans to arrive, and it's s...

Antec Noise Killers
They're little silicone gaskets and silicone washered fan screws (they make 'em in various sizes and for power supplies) and they are great! They pretty much kill all of the vibrational noise - leaving only turbulence (which is only an issue if you have bad/closed up vents) They cost somewhere in be...
