The term RMA was described by Rusty. What it really means is that you must get prior authorization beforehand to return an item. An RMA number is issued and used to credit your account when the item is received and inspected. Before Internet retailing, it was known in the commercial world as Return ...

Noise is cumulative, so that 2 drives that independently are rated at 30 dB-A, will produce more than 30 dB-A when run together. Therefore, it is possible that 3 Samsung drives could be louder than 2 Hitachi drives, even if the Samsung drives (individually) are quieter. But you have to do the math, ...

If you look at the Panasonic web site, they don't list the model numbers for the 3 wire versions. They just say it is an option. I suspect it is an option on any of the fans if you place a large enough order with Panasonic.

I looked at my Pabst PDF file that I downloaded from somewhere (don’t remember where). The 342NGL is a Pabst 92mm x 92mm x 25mm fan that is rated at 61 m3/h (35.9 CFM) and 23 dB(A). The 3412 N/2GL is a special version of the above fan with the Sensor Signal / 2 that does speed monitoring. There are ...

Excuse my ignorance (I am new at this silent stuff), but I thought that the motherboard could vary the fan speed according to the temperature requirements. I guess not, especially with an Intel Motherboard. So in looking the 92mm Panaflo FBA09A12L1BX that Ralph uses, it is rated at 42.7 CFM and 27 d...

I am considering using GE Silicone II caulk to create a resilient barrier between a fan and my Thermalright heatsink (both to be purchased soon). According to the specs I read on the GE website, 100% Silicone is rated up to 400 degrees F. I will let it dry before attaching the fan to the heatsink si...

I have a very similar question as Sage. I will be buying a Thermalright cooler soon and need to decide on a fan. Just like Sage, I want to connect a 80mm fan to the 3-pin motherboard CPU fan header to facilitate RPM monitoring. I want to know the exact model of fan (not just a Panaflo, etc) to use t...
