Re: Help me slim down my desktop

I forgot to list my GPU. It's an R9 280 (non X). I may choose to take it out, but support for it would be nice just in case. How much heat and noise does an idle GPU add? Quiet at high loads would be quite difficult on this, and it's not really my goal. What I want is quiet at a low load like while ...

Help me slim down my desktop

I'm moving from a house to a small apartment, and I'd like to slim down my desktop and I could use some advice on how to go about it. I also have a laptop that I use when I'm outside the house or just want to use my computer on the couch. My case is really the main problem I'm trying to fix. I have ...

soft fan mouns for P180

Has anyone tried using the included rubber mounts for the hard drives as fan mounts? Would it work?

I'm not sure on the length of my connectors, but they reach fine with my setup (I bought the case).

Top fan filter on Antec P180

How effective is the top fan filter on the P180 at filtering dust? It seems to be restricting a lot of airlow. You can really tell the difference if you turn the fan on high and feel the air with and without the filter, though the difference seems very small on low. Is it worth it to have the filter...

i'm just saying that it might not be worth purchasing them unless i buy other things from the same site. It's $5 shipping for 5 packs of the fan mounts which was the same price I paid to have my case shipped.

They're quite expensive for something like that. How significanat will the noise reduction be?

What is length needed to reach the 4pin connector? I have an Asus P4P800 Deluxe and 4pin connection is right by where the USB ports at the back of the motherboard are. How long would the cable have to be? The powersupply I'll be using is a TruePower 430

Fitting everything inside the case isn't really needed for me. As I said I think it would be impossible to fit the heatercore within the case. Also, portability isn't needed for me either.

I've been looking around and I think I might be interested in the custom approach. I've been looking at the heatercores with space for 2x120mm fans sold in various places, and I was wondering if they could be placed outside the case, I definately have no room at all for something like that. Is it ef...

Kit vs. Custom

I was wondering how watercooling kits perform compared to custom ones (such as those from Dangerden). Would something like the Reserator 1 Plus be the solution or will something custom built likely perform better and remain quieter? I would like to cool both my P4 3.2ghz and Geforce 6800. Also, is t...

Need help with Swiftech H2O-120SB

The instructions on the Swiftech say to connect the pump's outlet to the water block's inlet but both have pre-installed hoses. What am i supposed to do in this case? My setup has only one cpu waterblock and no others.

H20-220 kit comes with the MCP650 pump. The other two have the MCP350 pump, one has a 80mm radiator and the other has a 120mm. Suposably you can mount the 120mm outside the case on a 80mm fan thing with MCB120 Radbox, which I believe is not included and costs extra. For now I'll look for a compariso...

Help choosing parts

I need some help building a water cooling system. I'm trying to eliminate noise and heat in my system. I don't plan on over clocking much if at all. Unfortunately I don't have the skills to build something very exotic, so basically I don't want to be modifying my case or anything. I have an average ...

I'll take a good look at that review once it comes around. I'm not amazing with this stuff, like I wouldn't drill holes in my case, but I got the intel heatsink on pretty easily. The weight shouldn't be a problem because im guessing it has its own retension thing, and I don't even move my case much.
